Our server Ivan was very professional, courteous, and friendly. He was the highlight. My pasta was bland and lacked salt, cheese, or heat. My wife’s lobster roll was flavorful and the bread was great but still not worth 35 bucks. Hostess did not smile when we arrived. First experience did not live up to hype.

My experience at Hook and Anchor in Costa Mesa was deeply disappointing. The fried green tomatoes were thin and soggy, lacking any crispness or flavor. The Lobster Mac & Cheese contained barely any lobster, and what little there was had an unpleasantly chewy texture. The hot lobster roll was neither hot nor enjoyable—it featured the same tough lobster, and I even choked on pieces of lobster shell. At $48, this dish was especially underwhelming. Additionally, the side of mushrooms we ordered arrived lukewarm and bland with no seasoning or taste adding to the overall lackluster quality of the meal. I specifically asked about the 25% off appetizers promotion and was told it applied in the dining area. However, when the bill arrived, the discount was initially only applied to bar orders. While the restaurant eventually honored the 25% off apps and gave us an additional 15% discount for the cold, poorly prepared food, it didn’t redeem the overall experience. In total, we spent $95 on food that was inedible, left the restaurant hungry and now my partner is sick, and had to cook myself dinner at home afterward. I’ve never spent so much at a restaurant and left so dissatisfied and starving .

Our first time there for lunch. We sat at the bar and Neno was the bartender/server. And he was very friendly and attentive. Really nice guy! Everything was great! My husband had the cup of clam chowder which was a good size bowl - very good. He then had a 6 oz lobster roll which was amazing. He said the best ever! I had the Newport salad and a grilled mahi-mahi taco. Very good and plenty of food!!

Ivan was the best ! Very attentive and always checking on us to make sure everything was good! Everything 10/10!!! Of course the lobster roll and lobster Mac was the best thing i ordered ! I will be back to try everything else!

The food was great, and Donnie was awesome. Unfortunately, our server, Eulyses, was not at his best. He forgot my cocktail, and I waited long to be served. But Donnie made up for it. We will definitely come back.
