The ambiance here is inviting and warm. No blaring audio system, no TV's in the dining room. A truly comfortable place not trying to be something chic. A great place for a family meal, special occasion, or a business meeting. This is so hard to find these days with all the noise pollution and nearly every eating establishment I visit. All in all, Hook & Cleaver has escalated to one of my favorite restaurants in the area. With excellent service, great tasting food, and reasonable pricing, I can't really think of a better place! Other restaurants in the Western Washington should visit Hook & Cleaver to see how a restaurant with great service and a thoughtful staff make all the difference. The great tasting food is almost a bonus to the overall experience.

Just ate here for the first time. Sat outside on a sunny day. Gorgeous views. Food was great! I had fish and chips and we finished with the bread pudding. Only thing to keep in mind, if you sit outside the train will come by and halt conversation for a bit.

The food (paella) was delicious. Our server was great. But with a reservation for 2 with a birthday note, were we seated next to the service door? The restaurant was not full by any means. Disappointed.

Beautiful setting & view of Mukilteo ferries, Puget Sound and Mt. Baker. Porterhouse for two was good, burger good, but chicken breast was max 4 ounces or 4 bites. Fingerling potatoes were a greasy mess. steamers excellent but also a small amount for the price. Wedge salad good. For over a $250 tab for 4, it’s not worth it.

The bacon jam was fabulous, the calamari was good, the Halibut stole the show and the veal chop went far behind. But the prime rib was half our tables order and it was lacking. The cut was cold and the au jus was bland but the rest was of the meal was good. Dessert was average but decent. Will she to try this again, perhaps happy hour in the bar, the menu was different.

Got tickets to a standup comedy show at the Hook and Cleaver so decided to have dinner there as well (25$ off coupon for ticket holders) Absolutely the best Calamari I have had, perfectly cooked and so tender! Dinner was also delicious, I had the braised short ribs! Yum and my date had the halibut again perfectly cooked! Nice varied menu, sea food and steak plus pasta and vegan meals! Pete was our waiter and was very helpful choosing a wine that matched with our meals. He was prompt and attentive without being a pest gave us plenty of time between our appetizers and meal and encouraged us to hang around after the and wait in the dining area while we waited for the show. Beautiful view of the sound! Excellent night and the meal and drinks were well within our budget! We will be going back!
