   Unfortunately the Rump Steak special ordered by one member of the party was very ordinary with the majority of the meal being fat or gristle - he did not enjoy it at all. Other members all had the Chicken Kiev special which was adequate but a little dry/over cooked. No-one asked us how our meals were, otherwise we would have told them at the time rather than writing a negative review. I also believe it to be quite rude clearing plates before everyone at the table has finished eating, which is what the staff did. I've dined at the HSCC numerous times and have found the meals to be very good in the past. This particular occasion was very disappointing, particularly since there was at 15% surcharge being a public holiday, therefore not value for money.

   Very accommodating when specific request made. Friendly patient staff who are well mannered and look happy with their roles. Not intrusive service. Food very good except for the salad as you have to enjoy eating rice. Simple salad best...only our opinion. Thanks heaps and we will return.

   Was told we would have to wait 15-45 minutes to be seated because they had 2 large groups (looked to be maybe 15-20 in both groups) despite there being many tables available (have previously been there when it has been packed without issue). Older woman at front desk was extremely rude. So we left, booked a table online and went back in and I questioned as to why we could book a table for in 5 minutes time and was asked to leave because she felt "threatened" because I swore under my breath as we had walked out 2 minutes earlier. She lied and said I swore at her which I didn't. We have been regulars for the past few years however with her attitude we most definitely will not back and will not ever recommend the place to anyone ever again. Save your money and head to the Bull and Mouth or the Vic Hotel.

   Good quality food at a reasonable price. Went on a Friday where they had the 2 courses (main/dessert) and a drink for $34. Considering how busy it was, the meals came out pretty quickly even though they kindly warned us it could take 30 minutes. Lots of locals about created a nice atmosphere.

   We had the salt and pepper calamari, beer battered barramundi and the T-Bone Steak, all with chips and salad. The meal was served promptly and was delicious and reasonably priced. We had a lovely evening and all staff were polite and helpful.
