   We’ve visited Host for Sunday lunch on several occasions in the past and it’s always been excellent. Unfortunately today’s meals were not up to the same standard as we’ve previously experienced. There were only two small slices of beef and the potatoes were extremely hard (they’d obviously been precooked and reheated). The plates were not very hot so the food went cold quickly. Instead of the lovely spiced red cabbage we’ve had previously, there was a chunk of roasted white cabbage which was okay but difficult to cut and not as tasty as the red. The dessert I chose was blood orange cheesecake with forced rhubarb but came without rhubarb and instead a few orange segments. I wouldn’t have minded if they’ve said they had no rhubarb, but it wasn’t mentioned. Service was, as always, excellent, and hopefully they were just having an off day as we’ve previously raved about how good the Sunday lunches are. It wasn’t terrible, and we enjoyed it overall, it just wasn’t as good as we’ve come to expect.

   Family occasion, all enjoyed the food and left clean plates. Pizzas, filet o’fish burger and Guinea fowl were delicious. Great advice from the waitress re vegan options, the vegan meal was superb. Great service, lovely atmosphere as usual. Been a few times, will be back again.

   very varied choice of cocktails, good cuisine and excellent service. However, I expected a more relaxed atmosphere, the environment in the restaurant for louder conversations and drinking

   We visit St Ives every year on holiday and have always had drinks in Host as it is a beautiful place, this time we made sure to book in for a Sunday roast and it was fantastic, all delicious! Cocktails and drinks selection were also great and the service was excellent! Our puppy was also made to feel very welcome, they made sure she had water and even gave her some treats! We would definitely recommend and come again!
