   We visited this place for cocktails, I had booked a table for 4 in advance. It was very uncomfortable to rest because we were seated at an incredibly small table that barely fit our cocktails, although there were 3 of us. I had to sit on a small uncomfortable ottoman near the entrance to the bar. I was disappointed because I had high hopes after seeing this bar on social media, but after they placed us there, I was very uncomfortable and wanted to leave as soon as possible. Our order was taken after 7-10 minutes, we got 1 cocktail each, which were quite good. When we got the bill, I asked to remove the service charge, and the waiter who served us made an unhappy face:). I simply do not understand the point of being able to book a table for more than 2 people if the bar cannot comfortably accommodate it. Overall, I was disappointed, will not come back.

   The hotel is absolutely fantastic, the rooms, sexy , exciting , beautiful and luxurious ( we were in the mid sized room) The treat me like I'm famous package is well worth the money, the cocktail bar, although small, was cosy , sexy and the cocktails absolutely exquisite. The staff were polite and very helpful. The hotel was clean and although, (especially after a couple of drinks) the corridors seemed to never end and appeared to constantly change, it added to the sheer enjoyment of the place and experience The location of the hotel is excellent , maybe 8 minutes from Waverley train station and just off the centre of the royal mile with a 8 minute slow walk to the castle and literally 3 minutes from all the bars and restaurants. We are booking to go back, yet this time I will be booking the suite as I am intrigued to see and bathe in the roll top bath

   My expectations for a great experience were quickly dashed by the bar area. The volume of people coming and going in the bar area in my view, doesn’t work, particularly on cold / wet / windy days when the door is often left open and guests feel the full force of the cold temperature. Cocktails were excellent, although a bit costly for the ambiance.

   This is a small area at front reception of hotel. We loved the ambience and the laid back atmosphere. Finished our night with a couple of cocktails which were 10/10. Staff were lovely.

   We had a spicy Marg and an Exploding Gun, and hands down the best cocktail I've ever had - 10/10!!

    Didn’t realise the bar was just a sitting area as soon as you come in , was expecting a bigger bar area quite disappointing
