   Somelier instead of providing a wine list, gave us a wine selection without advising on price even asking a budget for the wine pairing so resulted on very expensive wine that it was not even at the quality level for the pricing. That ruined my whole experience

   Seriously one of the most outstanding dinners in a life I have been fortunate to have as exploring fine restaurants worldwide has been my passion for many many years. Jorge Bargas, the sommelier was spot on in his recommendations , so enthusiastic and easily accessible. The cuisine seems to me a fusion of art and science.

   Tuvimos una noche espectacular con el menú de degustación de 12 tiempos. Nos encantó ver cómo preparaban los platillos y poder acercarnos a la barra. Cada bocado fue una obra de arte, tanto en presentación como en sabor.

   We traveled extensively, and this was absolutely the best meal and dining experience we have ever had. The overall ambiance, staff, and each course were out of this world. Congratulations to all who made the experience exceptional for us! We will come back the next time we visit Merida!

   A night to remember! Each of the 10 courses was prepared with care and explained in detail. The embroidered ‘menu’ was a clever way to introduce each course. The service was impeccable!!

   I understand that this is an up and coming fine dining experience but here are my comments: There is no real menu, it’s a fun picture book of upcoming attractions. There’s no way of knowing what Chef has in store, and more importantly, THERE ARE NO PRICES. The tasting menu, overseen by the very astute sommelier, missed the mark a bit and again, NO PRICES! On a positive note, the dishes were incomparably unique, and I’m not qualifying that as either good or bad. The mix of flavors, textures and ingredients were like none we’ve experience before. OpenTable asked if we had allergies and I said “No” but that coconut was not favored. And you guessed it, one of the desserts was coconut!! Overall, the cost of the meal was, over $1000US for 4 people, to this NY’er, not worth it.

    Outrageously overpriced. Some dishes were absolutely stunning and delicious, but only about 35%. The service was abysmal. I wasn't offered a wine list, or even a glass, until the 4th course and only after I asked. And the cost of the wine for the quality is offensive. Evidently there was a wine pairing, evidenced by the table next to me, but I never received that offer. The first course of botanas was an interesting and delicious elevated interpretation. There was a squid dish that had interesting flavors but was the texture of baby food that was quite off-putting. The lamb dish, arriving in an overly dramatic fashion, was far too rare with a thick layer of un-rendered fat. I went to Nectar about 12 years ago and was similarly disappointed, so I will pass on any of Solís' current and future endeavors.
