    A reliable, local spot with a nice, big room and a vibrant atmosphere. Our waiter, Aidan, was terrific. We enjoyed our meals. Nothing groundbreaking here, but well-executed and tasty

    Il Fornaio, Carmel, Ca was a huge disappointment. We were excited to revisit it and enjoy Christmas dinner with friends however most of the staff working were either untrained in hospitality or just rude. Food was so/so and certainly not worth the price. Ambience was warm but run down and worn. What happened?

    We were fortunate to get a window seat in the dining room next to street on Christmas Day. Brian was an excellent server and each course of food that we had was fantastic. A great experience on a busy day.

    I hate to be the Xmas Grinch, but it ain’t worth it. Instead of bringing the starter, we received main course and starter at the same time. Service useless. And the main course was not fully hot either. The only redeeming factor was the espresso. Must try harder guys.

    Hostess sat us in a drafty area (the long space between the outside door and a door at the other end) when tables were available in the cozier areas. She should be on the lookout for chances to please customers.
