il Portico Opened in 1988 ~Same Ownership ~ Fine Italian Cuisine
Located in the charming historic village of Tappan New York, il Portico has received National Landmark status. Built in the early 1850s, it once served as a stagecoach stop and hotel offering weary travelers accommodations for 3 cents a night! The atmosphere is warm and romantic.

We like to thank you for your support and your excellent review during a time when is very difficult to navigate the hospitality industry. We welcome your next visit in the near future. We will continue our post-Covid policy: with limited seating, reservation only - no walk-ins, and we will stagger our reservations.

    We really enjoyed our special anniversary dinner. Service was excellent. Unlike many restaurants we were not rushed and felt like we were in the home of a gracious host. Food was phenomenal and the house red was delicious.

    As always we had an outstanding meal with impeccable service. Pepe, Paige and Cena as always took great care of us. I say it every time and it still is true. This is the best restaurant in Rockland County for any occasion or just for a wonderful night out enjoying a special meal.

    It's been quite some time since my last visit here and my wife wanted to try it. Absolutely delightful setting and attentive staff to start, and dinner was great. Everything was fresh and delicious. We'll be back again very soon!
