Built in 1880, The Inn was at one time a brothel, until it was raided by federal officers. The Inn was a favorite site of cowboys and teamsters, who appreciated the fine foods and jovial atmosphere.
Over 100 years later, the Inn at Tres Pinos is now a San Benito County Historical Landmark, carefully restored by owner, Mike Howard. The ambiance is intimate, rustic, and elegant. It’s country with a touch of class, and decorated in a style that is a reflection of Mike’s personal interest. Mike's grandfather taught him the the art of fly-fishing, and every year the family still fishes together at the Big Wood River in Sun Valley, Idaho. Mike married Mary along the Big Wood River in 2010, and the Inn has become a true family affair. Mike’s philosophy is “Keep it fresh and keep it simple.” His staff is personally hand picked and will make every effort to meet your expectations. The Inn at Tres Pinos is the only four-star restaurant in San Benito Country.

One of the best meals I’ve ever had. My friend and I were in town hiking pinnacles for the weekend from San Mateo. First of all, our server was Julie, and she was so sweet and attentive! We felt like we were visiting someone’s home. We ordered the “famous” calamari, and it was SO GOOD. My friend had tortilla soup and I had a Caesar salad for starters, and both were fresh and delicious. Then, she had the skirt steak, and me the chicken genovese. OMG. We were actually upset that we didn’t have more room for another round of calamari or dessert! All in all, if we lived closer, we would be back often. For now, we’ll just work on planning our next trip back!!

We received a gift certificate and this was our first time there… Our waiter was super nice and very attentive.. we were seated in the street side area of the restaurant so it was a bit loud but not unbearable. our cocktails were excellent. And the food was excellent. I didn’t want the topping they offered on the mahi-mahi special so they were willing to change all of it for me which was really nice and it was by far the best meal I’ve ever had. Delicious.!!! a bit pricey. But also great quality. We will definitely go back.

Excellent menu + daily specials. We've been dining at the Inn at Tres Pinos for decades, always delicious, quality food with right-sized portions. Extensive wine list. We try to reserve the wine room whenever possible- nice, cozy somewhat private room for 6 people max. The outdoor area is great during warm weather. Great cocktails, too. Highly recommend!!

Incredible, as always. Celebrated Valentine's with cocktails, prime rib, dessert. Everything was on point. Service was great, food was fantastic, and the Inn has an excellent ambiance. This is our favorite place to go for birthdays and events, and it doesn't miss

Been coming to the Inn for over 20 years and still doe not disappoint. Some menu items are still there from back then meaning they have really perfected them.

Our service was impeccable as usual. But the food quality was off from our prior visits. My wife’s sea bass special was dry and lackluster. My favorite & usual dish - melt in your mouth rack of lamb was tough & chewy. I don’t know what happened - new vendor or just a bad cut of meat. Kind of dissapointed.

I visited The Inn for a special occasion, but the service was extremely slow—we waited nearly two hours for food while others who ordered the same dishes were served first. The manager was dismissive, and their attempt to ‘comp’ drinks didn’t even cover the cost. Disappointing experience.
