Review summary

AI-generated from verified diner reviews
IronRock Tap House boasts a "beautiful" ambiance and an "extensive menu" that has been praised for its delicious offerings, including the "best" Maryland Crab dip. However, service can be inconsistent and prices are high. With some improvements, IronRock has the potential to be a top dining destination.

The waiter we had was awesome despite being new to the job. That said, we had a unique experience in the sense we tried to walk in and get a seat and were told they were only accepting reservations and that they were booked all night. Hearing this, knowing we weren’t dressed our best, we were curious to see if there were any last minute cancels. To our surprise there were several reservations times open and in fact during our dinner we noticed that not a single person came in after us. We originally came in at 8 and were denied, but later set a res for 8:30pm and were laughed at when we came back in for it. The place was not busy at all, maybe 20% capacity and we did up spending around $150 for a meal between myself and my wife. Overall the food was fair, but overpriced for what you get. The service was good, but the host staff seemed more worried about trying to get the restaurant to close early than provide equitable service to all its guests.

Our server was great and super attentive to us. My wife and I went to celebrate Valentine’s Day 2025 at Iron Rock. The service was great and always made sure we had our drinks and if we needed anything. However other than our BBQ pulled pork nachos, our food left us unfulfilled. The nachos were amazing and we loved those. However my wife ordered the Alfredo and the cheese was overcooked and curdled making it very grainy and almost sour tasting. My steak was okay but most of it was a large portion of fat that after cutting away took my New York Strip from a decent size to about the size of a steak medallion. While our food wasn’t awful we left wishing it would’ve been a lot better. You can tell our reservation was at 9:00 pm (one of two last available options when we booked) the kitchen was most likely just burnt out. Things did come out fast but I would’ve definitely preferred waiting longer if it meant the quality would’ve been much higher. My wife and I came here twice before this trip and the first time thought it was amazing and made us want even more even though I waited over an hour and a half for my steak (which the staff compensated us heavily for and we got to meet the chef as he made an appearance just to apologize to me) we didn’t mind it was great experience. The second time the menu had changed and there wasn’t much either of us had any interest in, nonetheless we still tried to enjoy the experience there and left saying it was okay. But this last trip for our valentine dinner just left us almost sad, realizing it just didn’t work out the way we hoped and we weren’t mad at anyone just that we probably wouldn’t return. The price vs quality just isn’t there and I can’t justify paying what we do for what is unfortunately a lackluster turnout. Each time my wife and I have went it’s been over a $100 bill for all three trips before tip as well, for me personally if I’m paying that much I can’t have two of the three experiences being poor.

Are here before and remembered it being fantastic! Live music Wes nice but was too loud to have a conversation. Got the Filet and it was cooked to temperature but the accompanying baked potato was Luke warm and the broccolini under seasoned. A good meal nonetheless, but not what I remember it being.

What a disappointment. The Fettuccine Alfredo was more like Al dente. The Pan Seared Scallops were not seared and were lukewarm warm with a raw middle. No golden caramelized finish as described on the menu. The baked potato was not done and seemed a little stale. The Maryland Crab Dip with chips was the highlight.

Out of white wine, and 3 entrees. No gluten free pasta. I ordered 5 entrees until they found a Gluten Free Option. Our bill was 172$ and salad was limp, baked potatoes were over cooked and salmon was tiny.

Our food arrived cold and with one meal missing. We were not given an opportunity to speak with a manager about our issues. Our server was uninformed and inattentive. The kitchen and bar kept “just running out” of food and drinks that we ordered.

Good food and menu. Seemed to maybe be understaffed. Pretty good waitress, but plates came out incomplete and missing items. Very friendly though.

The owner of this restaurant needs to take control. He needs to work with the staff and find a better manager. We had to wait over an hour for our lunches. The only good person there was our waitress and she was totally overwhelmed. Need to hire more people.

I hosted a work lunch here on Tuesday. I had made a reservation and when I arrived the front door was locked. They were to have opened an hour before and there were other customers in the parking lot waiting to get in as well. I called the restaurant, and they came and unlocked the door. There were some employees in the back but no customers. We had to ask our server two times for our drinks, and she never brought one of them. It took over an hour for our food to come out and one of the items didn't arrive until we were about to leave. The whole experience took two and a half hours, which is unacceptable for lunch time. Our server was very overwhelmed and inattentive, but here were only about 5 other tables during that time. Unfortunately, this is the third negative experience that I have had there, and at this point I do not plan to go back.

The portions are small and everything is expensive. The staff is friendly. We waited over 30 minutes for our food. The dessert we had (this outing was for our birthday) were large pieces and I was grateful for that!
