   The restaurant was dark on arrival, a security guard came to the door and said that the restaurant was closed, forever it seemed

   Turned up with my family on New Year’s Eve. Waited for a while to be greeted at the door but there was no queue but was left standing. We had booked a booth table and was told we had to sit on a normal table. Lady who served us was very abrupt in her responses. Was given one food menu between 5 people. Had to ask for more menus and waited a while for them. The waiter had to get them from another table. Which food establishment doesn’t have more than a few menus. Absolutely will never be coming back. We didn’t bother ordering and walked out to eat elsewhere.

   A very quiet Tuesday night in Watford and therefore we were able to fully enjoy the surroundings and appreciate the good food at Jardin. I have never eaten authentic Mexican food before so this was a first, and not disappointed. The chicken wings and beef tortillas were excellent and the sauces with them were a delight, but the "Piece de Resistance" (sorry not sure of the Mexican equivalent) was the Duck Mole. Duck breast perfectly cooked and accompanied by two Mole chocolate sauces, one white and one brown, delightful and delicious. We also tried the cocktails, perfectly mixed and presented and as it was quiet we were able to speak with the owner and the mixologist about the background to the restaurant. As a recent start-up it has its teething problems but give itv time and it will develop into good venue for food, music and entertainment.

    quality food for a good price. we didn't have to wait long before the food was served. Even de chef came out to see if everything was in good order.
