Chef Alexa Numkena-Anderson's "Inɨ́sha", is an Indigenous fine dining experience. Inɨ́sha means "My Daughter" in the Yakama Tribal Language. Focusing on indigenous foodways, food sovereignty, modern takes on traditional tribal recipes, and only sourcing ingredients from 'Turtle Island' with inspiration from Alexa's tribal afflictions of the Hopi, Yakama, Skokomish & Cree Nations. The menu will be dairy-free, gluten-free, soy-free, and Cane sugar-free and only source proteins native to this continent, this means no Pork, Chicken, or Beef instead we will use Wild Boar, Bison, Duck, Goose, Rabbit & Tribal Caught Fish. We will eat how the indigenous peoples of this land would have. Food is Medicine. This dinner starts at 6PM sharp

Chef Alex just changed my life. My high expectations were floored by the elevated, soul fulfilling experience it was to dine on this thoughtful tasting menu. Delicious flavors I wasn’t expecting burst and shone forward, boldly boasting their excellence as they were brought front and center. The wine and tea pairings were phenomenal. The presentation was conversation evoking and gave words to voices I’d only before felt. Each ecstatic bite of the meal will forever live etched into my heart.

This was a beautifully curated menu of native foods. Each dish was a delight in taste and presentation. I appreciated that before each dish we were invited to learn about the ingredients and their significance. Chef was kind and caring and spoke to each table. I’d love to come back again!

Wow! This place was amazing. Every one of the 6 courses was fantastic. The layout generated a sense of community and the owners' discussion of each dish was heartwarming. My wife and I split the tea and wine pairings. The wine pairing was well thought out. The tea pairing was delicious, but be prepared to drink a lot of tea!

We were lucky and scored a reservation for the very first night of the Inisha prix fixe dinner. The menu is broad and well designed, ingredients thoughtfully sourced, and the food is soooo good. I'm not sure if they do fully vegetarian substitutions or not, but if you're someone like me who doesn't eat commercially produced animal proteins, this place is perfect as the focus is on indigenous protein sources like rabbit, bison, oysters, and sturgeon. We are so fortunate to have Javelina in Portland and I'm so excited to see what they do as they continue to grow.

We loved our experience. The food was simple and delicious. We had the very tender huckleberry bbq sauce elk, pickled onion, and arugula on a tender fry bread. The flavors were very complementary and subtle. I had the smoked salmon wild rice bowl with spiced squash, perfectly cooked beans, pickled onions, and arugula. This was very simple and delicious. Another plus was the smell of sage smudge cleansing and the pleasant folks that greeted and cared for us!
