Food and service was awesome. Only the oysters were disappointing.

Jean is wonderful and so attentive; we learned a lot about wine making. The charcuterie board paired so well their wines. I’m a fan and we’re coming back with friends next time. P.S. Be sure to have a reservation.

Resident lamb guy here. Tonight I tried something different: Bourguignon. Oh my God is it amazing! The gravy is so good I had the owner remove the bowl so I wouldn’t be tempted to lick it clean. This comes highly recommended with a glass of Redhead.

First impressions are important and ours was not so good. Upon arrival the first thing we noticed was that the entrance and front vineyard had not been maintained for quite some time. Vines were dead and the grass was high and unkept. We almost left but continued on. When we tried to go inside we found the doors were locked. Again we started to leave when someone came out and apologized for the door being locked and invited us in. The inside was nice and being the only people in the restaurant the service was very good. We did enjoy our meal, but did not have any wine as it was extremely overpriced given the facilities. Until the owners put the time and money into cleaning up the place I would not see myself ever going here again. Very disappointed.

We had a friend visiting from The Netherlands. So, naturally we took her for dinner to Jean Farris Winery and Bistro. The setting was perfect on a late summer evening. She tried things she had not had before - fried green tomatoes and Mac & cheese that came with her chicken dish - both of which she really liked. She also enjoyed the Tempest wine and her Old Fashioned - also something she had not had before. Jean Farris is our favorite place to go and to take out-of—towners. We will definitely return.

Last time we ate there 10 years ago the place was lively, good food and wine, great atmosphere. Wow has it gone downhill. This time the place was virtually empty on a beautiful Saturday night. Didn’t have my first or even second choice of a common cocktail drink. Actual dinner menu didn’t match what they publish online. My Mahi dinner could have come from a Stouffer’s box, except smaller portion. The OpenTable reservation stipulated our party was there for a birthday celebration, but the wait staff never brought it up. They required a $240 deposit just to reserve the table (party of 8), final tab was $423 for a subpar, disappointing experience.

Perfect meeting place for fine dining. Reservations were a breeze. Courteous welcome upon arrival. Drink menu is perfect- not limited to JF wines and the cocktails are wonderful. We started with the charcuterie board which had in house made crackers, sausage, variety of cheeses and some chutney which was delicious. We all had a different entree and none of us left anything Portions are moderate in size and easy to consume. Others came and left while we were there- some to dine some to just have a drink and sit outside. The chef came out personally to check on us which was a lovely personal touch. This is a great place to eat. Personal attention is given to all patrons. We never felt rushed in fact they were so kind we had no idea we had stayed for over three hours.

Food and chef was exceptional. The facility needs some upgrades. It looks like it’s closed when you pull into the parking lot. Wine was below average. But all in all, we were glad we went and we did enjoy the experience.
