   We had the High Tea and it was outstanding. A good mix of food items, well presented and delicious. Our glasses and cups were always full. Friendly and pleasant staff. Large windows overlooking gardens. Highly recommend.

   The ambience and the quality of the food is excellent. Unfortunately, there were only two staff and they weren't very attentive, disappeared as soon as dishes were delivered so I had to find them to point out that additional veg dishes had not appeared with the main courses, and then one of those was wrong. No offer of a second glass of wine or coffee. We felt like our "time was up", and table cloths were already being removed from empty tables before 9 p.m. Rather a disappointing evening as I remembered Joseph's being a premium venue and we had wanted a special evening for overseas guests.

   It took us 40 minutes to find the place as no signage with the restaurant name. Called them to ask but nobody answered. Carpets absolutely dirty and stained. Walls to be painted. Very tiny serves for the expensive prices. They asked if we were for a special occasion to what we replied, wedding anniversary, but nothing was given as a gift. Would not recommend the place at all!

   My entree was not palatable. The chicken terrine terrine was dry and lacked flavour. The risotto was delicious. My husband’s scallops were delicious however his duck was overcooked.

   Mains took an hour to come whilst people who sat after us got their entree and mains before us. When the Food finally arrived it was cold. Service was terrible. One drink in over an hour. Bill was incorrect. Couldn't be poorer.

   We were very much looking forward to our dinner at Joseph’s as part of the Melb Food & Wine festival. Unfortunately the long table was placed outside not as advised in the pavilion or the restaurant. It was so bitterly cold that it made the whole experience unpleasant. The food was good, the wines not as good as expected. When we were ushered outside towards the seating area we were told to go towards the bar for pre dinner drinks. My friend ordered a couple of glasses of champagne and was then told it was a $54 cost! Last years event that we attended at St Hubert’s winery was brilliant and thus we were disappointed from our event at Joseph’s.

    Very expensive for the quality of the food which was average. I left some of my steak as it wasn't up to standard. We were nearly overcharged by $80 per head until we checked the bill and pointed out the mistake (interestingly, this happened last time we ate there as well!). Don't think we will bother going back again as it has been the same the last few times we have been there. Disappointing.
