Reserved a table at Kahills for Mother’s Day brunch and we did not even eat at Kahills. We ate at the convention center. It was like being at dinner camp and you were eating in a dining hall. People pay extra to eat Kahills because of the ambience and river view. Instead we paid extra to eat in a loud giant room with no windows. You can’t let people book to eat at Kahills and you not let them know they won’t be eating at Kahills. Also the prime rib was entirely too raw to even be edible. We even waited for a different one to come out and they were both cooked the same. Everyone in the prime rib line complained it was too raw. Not worth the $60 brunch.

We went for Mother’s Day brunch. The service was terrible but the food was good. They should have had more than two cooks at the omelet station. I didn’t get one because it looked like the wait was going to be 15-20 minutes. I understood that the price would be high because it was Kahill’s. It was $213 for 5 people- NO extras despite trying to order a mimosa (I didn’t get it because the server couldn’t hear me because I wouldn’t shout across the table for 9, despite there being 5 of us). I had to ask for my water to be refilled despite visits by the server to the table while I was gone, and my father had to borrow someone else’s glass because she didn’t fill his either. I won’t be back.

Easter brunch buffet at Kahill's -I wanted to like it but have to rank the Easter buffet as poor. Massively overpriced ($60.00 per person) for the quality of the food. The reservation was for 1:30pm- food that should have been hot was cold -buffet warmers not working. Items were picked over and not replenished. Crew clean up going on while we ate. And no coffee available after 2:00pm. And the desserts were not good either! Never go to a buffet if it is toward the end of the time span. I will say the serving staff were pleasant.

We live about an hour from Kahill’s so it’s a bit of a treat for us to drive into the Sioux City area for dinner. But Kahill’s is the best restaurant in town, hands down. Their menu is very nice with some creativity, which makes it more upscale. Their bar is awesome. As a bourbon guy I have total respect for their bourbon list. And I believe it’s a very underrated location: nearly every table looks out onto the Missouri River and downtown Sioux City and the lighted bridge! Now this isn’t Manhattan of course, but it’s cool in its own way. In any case, we love this restaurant and it never disappoints.
