We've always been fans of Shokudo since its Ala Moana days, but we love this version in Kaimuki even more. The food is always wonderful and service always attentive and great. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Mix in a pitcher of Orion and honey toast at the end and what's not to love about this place? Lots of parking in the paid lot too. Enjoy!

Service was terrible. Not sure if it’s due to short staff or new employee.

The food is so good! We brought some family from out of town and they have minimal experience with Japanese food and loved all of it! They were especially excited for the honey toast! We will be back for more soba, pupus, and honey toast!

Food is authentically Japanese themed. Small portions. Hamachi was fishy and I got bad but of sashimi. Best dish is their honey toast

Someone needs to tell the owner that bare concrete flooring is neither clean nor cool. When they had a place on Kapiolani, it was clear that their intention was not to stay long once they moved from their original lease location literally next door. This place has that dark and dingy feel, especially if you enter from the back. My biggest complaint is the VERY small portions. This is a glorified noodle shop. I realize $15-20 bucks is mot a bankbreaker, but for what you get, literally a mouthful, it's disturbing. I had lunch on a Sunday for two- the second person being a woman that doesn't eat much. With tax and tip it was $132.00. . . for noodles. Granted, 2 sakes and 1 chardonnay accounted for $32.00 of that bill, and $25.00 was tip, so $75 for a couple of very small bowls of very tasty noodles. We actually left hungry lol. You have to do better to get my business back.

Food was tasty, although portions were small. We ordered the Kirin pitcher of beer but was overcharged by $5.00. The late night dining price had $21.00, but we were charged $26.00 instead. Parking was plenty at night in back with minimal fee.

The table was too small for 4 people and their dishes. But overall the food was great.
