   Food was decent - loved the red cabbage. Drinks were inventive. Sake bomb is worth it for the gong. However, at the end of the meal the server told us there was an automatic 20% service charge for our table of 4 and that we should give an extra tip if we appreciated his service. Enough already with hidden price increases! If the restaurant wants to raise its prices, they can. Pay the staff a working wage and let us voluntarily reward great service.

   This was my second time here. I love the interior and ambiance but the food is not amazing. It is not bad but I have never eaten anything there that I had to go back for. We ordered two apps, two other smaller plates and the main salmon, plus 2 drinks. The bill was $175 that includes the 20% tip the restaurant adds.

   From the food to the service, Kawa Ni is just outstanding. So much so, that even with all of Denver's many dining options. I want to make it a staple. I'll be back.

   This is one of our very favorite spots in town. The food NEVER disappoints. The cold broccoli salad is truly one of the best dishes on the menu, but we have never had a bite of food that was less than divine. The service is always phenomenal, and the entire staff is friendly, attentive, and professional. One of Denver's best!

    Definitely a top favorite dining experience in Denver. Excellent service from the host to the servers. Helpful but not intrusive- much like an izakaya experience in Japan. Ambience is great- easy to hold conversation and a great playlist going in the background. There isn’t a bad choice on the menu- who would know you could improve edamame but the curry one is absolutely addictive. The shaved broccoli and spam bao were also stand outs. Great selection of Japanese beer.
