About this restaurant

  • Good for special occasions
  • Innovative
  • Charming
At KELP we take our time to make sure the food that goes on your plate is a fresh and local as possible. We source our seafood to be specifically Scottish and sustainable. We pride ourselves on using local suppliers for all our food. The fish people supply our fresh seafood daily. Our bread comes from Soja bakehouse, a family owned bakery in Cumbernauld. Our meat comes from ABR butchers, based in Bearsden.
Our executive chef, Christopher Hutchison, creates amazing, innovative dishes to be enjoyed and shared with friends and loved ones. We now have an AA rosette for 2023/2024 to highlight his and the teams amazing work. We are located on Cowcaddens Road, just around the corner from our sister restaurant, Ardnamurchan Restaurant and Bar and a stones throw from the theatre royal. Perfect for a meal before a show. Relax in our modern, airy restaurant and watch the chefs work in the open kitchen. Our signature dish is our crab doughnut, you'll be amazed!

Delicious food. Unfortunately our order was lost, but a good recovery, and we finished in time to get to our show. We were offered our wine on the house to make up for the rush. A lovely restaurant with good food. We will go again.

The food was delicious. All of the flavours combined to make some magical dishes. Staff were polite and friendly could have the crab doughnut every day for a year and not get tired of it.

My sister and I were served our meal separately with nearly 10 minutes between each. Although the restaurant follows a 'small plates' policy, surely the initial 2 plates should arrive together so you are both eating at the same time. The procedure was not really explained to us and although the food was tasty, portions were small and we left feeling rather disappointed.

Excellent service. Favourites hard to choose as everything was sooo tasty but stone bass dish and mussels with a subtly spiced coconut sauce were exceptional. We had the market menu but just couldn’t resist an extra dish and side dish, scallops and chips! A wonderful eating experience. Thank you.
