David our server was wonderful, but I felt bad for him because 50% of the things we wanted he had to say, "I am sorry, we are out of it." They did not even have Tanqueray gin (I wanted a G&T). The Maker's Mark Manhattan was made well. After several of our requests were met with "I am sorry, we are out of that." I finally asked what was going on? He said Sunday "theatre nights are slow" and so by then that time they are out of many dishes. The French onion soup was outstanding. We settled for salmon Caesar salads which were tasty. The did not have decaf Americano, so we had regular Americanos which were good. We ordered the bread pudding dessert. Wait for it...but the waiter came back to say they were out of that. We got the check and were bid a very friendly good-bye by a great staff. I felt badly that they fronted a restaurant, sparsely populated on a Sunday eve in downtown LA, because they are good. But disappointing pre-Disney Concert Hall experience. I might try again. Not sure though...

Excellent service. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Food was interesting and well-prepared. We ordered two appetizers— ahi and Brussels sprouts. Both excellent. Also ordered dessert— gelato macaroons. Yum!

Brunch is typically creative and indulgent but it would have been better at a diner.

I frequently dine at Kendall’s prior to event at Music Center. I had Steak frites as my entree. For dessert I had coffee and macarons. My meal was great and excellent service. I would recommend Kendall’s.

I rarely write reviews; however, we were very disappointed with our lunch today. Our server, Kate was fantastic but she was the only good thing about the lunch. The food was poor and disappointing. We both ordered the TBLT. The turkey was not fresh, it was processed. The avocado was a spread and very little of it. The bacon was cheap and fatty and the salad was all of 3 bites. It is not what it used to be, and for $26 I expected at least 1/2 the plate with lettuce, a decent salad. Service was great and Kate was very friendly and great, that was the only thing good about the lunch.

service was very uneven. Started out pretty well, but then the time between first course and main course was VERY long, our server seemed to have disappeared even though she knew we had a curtain time to make, had to talk to someone else who checked, apologized and said it was being plated, The 5 of the 6 entrees came out, but one persons wasn't ready. Took another 10+ minutes for the last main to show up. So we went from having a lot of time to being worried and rushed. Food was somewhat uneven. Salads and brussel sprout starters were good. Mussels got mixed reviews. One person felt the sauce was lacking in flavor. Loup de Mer/branzino was good , as were the steak frites and short ribs. Person who ordered the pasts dish said it wasn't great and he would not order it again.

This was our first time to see a performance of the LA OPERA. I wanted to have dinner before the performance and felt that something at the Music Center itself would be best because of the traffic. Good call. Viewing the menu in advance of our evening, it seemed good but frankly, I had only moderate expectations. Boy, was I pleasantly surprised! We started dinner out with a shared Caesar Salad which was excellent and the bread was fantastic. For dinner, my wife had the Steak Frites and I had the Brick1/2 Chicken. They were both superb. Our server was extremely polite and attentive. The noise level was low. You can talk and actually hear what the other person is saying. This is going to be our new go-to restaurant prior to attending performances.

The mussels, fries, and brussel sprouts were excellent. Kate was especially good. Salad dressing not so good. We didn’t order bread because $10 is ridiculous. This should be free. The charge creates negativity. Overall, we enjoyed our experience.
