The dining room at Kennington Tandoori is an elegant space dressed in lemon, plum and chocolate colours. Located on Kennington Road, this south London restaurant draws a local crowd and is always bustling with a lively mix of tables for two, business groups and politicians. The food is the real star of the show here, and the kitchen staff at Kennington Tandoori pay attention to detail - roasting and grinding all their own spices and making up all their own fresh stocks in-house. The menu – which is filled with classics such as the chicken tikka cooked with almonds, pistachios and coconut cream in a saffron sauce – is complimented by a bespoke wine list created by Caspar Auchterlonie.

Certainly our service has always been attentive but never intrusive. But now our private dining room takes intimacy even further, whether you want a private dinner party or a business meeting. You can even set your own mood with our versatile lighting system and the acoustics are ideal for being heard but not overheard. Is the KT perfect venue? You might think so. We have been struggling to find a new Indian restaurant in our locality, our usual haunt having let us down on the last 2 or 3 occasions. This place appears to fit the bill. Nice food in a smart restaurant with a reasonably good atmosphere once one particular table of bores had left.

I felt the staff were rude. We bought a big meal, but they were constantly trying to push more wine and dessert on us so we would spend more. They also have a strange rule that customers have to order all their food at once. I wouldn't go back there.

Excellent food, slow service and lovely peaceful ambience perfect for an after work meal. Will go back most definitely because the food was fresh, tasty and not overpowering with spice.
