   Ken’s is usually a pleasant dining experience with good service and excellent food. However, last night, a few minutes after we were seated, a group of six people were seated at the roundtable in the front. We were almost at the rear of the restaurant. These people were so loud that it created an unpleasant experience. They were literally screaming. I did not want to say anything because I was hoping that when they got their food, they would get quiet. They were so loud that I thought the hostess should have said something to them, but I suppose that’s a difficult situation to address. In spite of this, I would return to Ken’s. I have lived in the neighborhood for many years and have gone to ken’s for many years also. The bacon Panko crusted whitefish that I had was excellent.

   Was there for Valentine’s Day. It was a Friday night and they have live music. It was loud. At least it was entertaining, very entertaining. The menu variety is vast, something for everyone. With the cost dining and parking downtown, this was an unexpected treat. Wide cocktail selection as well. Lastly, in the neighborhood, no traffic. Travel time, 10 minutes!

   This was our first time at Ken's on Western. Made the reservation 2 weeks in advance. Honestly we expected more. It was nice but a lot smaller than the pictures showed. Asked for their best table. We were taken to the bar. Normally not an issue since we wanted to hear the entertainment but was not aware the bar was right next to the booth. Barely room for the servers much less the bar patrons who seemed to be having a REALLY good time. Also it was Valentines day therefore we expected a crowd but not in our laps. Again disappointed there were no Valentines day specials, drinks or otherwise (except for rose petals next to a red candle). The complimentary appetizers, pizza bread, cucumber salad & pickled green peppers were great. The Clam Chowder was good, salad was fresh, crisp & we did get a wedge of tomato. Could have used croutons. We asked for bread, got 1/4 of a dry cold french bread which came with dinner. The 25oz bone in Ribeye with grilled onions was good. Twice baked potato was a 1/2 of a baked potato which was good but needed butter/sour cream & seasonings. The 10oz Filet with Dejonge topping (thought it was suppose to be mustardy but was garlicky) fell off as soon as I cut into the steak. Very little au ju so was dry. The house Pinot Grigio was awful but the Meiomi Pinot Noir was good. Had Molton lava Cake was very good but was served in a cup so missed the flowing lava. The Death by Chocolate martini was very good. We will try again but with a few changes. Not on Valentines day & not in the bar.

   Food was good, but the salads were brought to the table while we just started eating the relish trays, and the dinner entrees were brought to the table when we had just started the salads. Rushing us thru dinner was not appreciated. Happy Valentine's Day.

   Ken's a cozy warm wonderful environment. The service is excellent and the food delicious. It is a gem in the Beverly neighborhood.

   We had the BEST dining experience at Ken’s on Western! When I made our reservation through Open Table, I asked for a cozy booth for two, as my husband John and I were celebrating an early Valentine’s Day. My request was honored precisely as I had hoped, and we were met immediately by our beautiful and friendly server, Maggie, who wasted no time in procuring me the perfect martini! We both ordered the filet mignon, and they were cooked exactly to order. Sides included chive mashed potatoes and fresh tossed salad and homemade chicken noodle soup. Delicious! Maggie checked in on us multiple times during our meal, replenishing drinks, and then offering dessert and coffee. The turtle cheesecake was outstanding! We had the best(early)Valentine’s date, made extra special by excellent service!

   First time at Ken's. Thought food and service was very good. Nice touch to get the pizza bread, peppers, and pasta salad as a starter. Thought their wine selection and price point was excellent.

    We were surprised by three free dishes of appetizers before we ordered. The specials all sounded so good. I got the stuffed shrimp, my guest got the pork chops and both of us raved about the flavor. I also tried their valentine martini which was yummy. For dessert we had the warm cookie with ice cream. Every thing was delicious. Our server was great too.
