Downtown New Orleans Restaurant + Bar
Light. Bright. Authentic. Magnetic. A meal with us is the best version of a French brasserie, imbued with the distinctive flavors of the Gulf and the peerless techniques that set these classic dishes apart.

Our lush oasis sets the tone as a social gathering place. Refined, but never rarified: Executive Chef Samuel Peery presents exceptional seafood of the Gulf, respectfully seasoned with bold, creative flavors inspired by the cuisines of France and the Amalfi Coast. Every plate here is a celebration of the shore. Our inspiration is European, but our influence is distinctly Louisiana. Expect memorable service, exceptional ingredients, and the artful preparations that have made the French Riviera justifiably famous.

Our meal was delicious from the bread, entrees, and desserts! It just gets a bit noisy if you're seated near the bar area, which was made louder by a rowdy group near us. It just makes it difficult to have a conversation at your table, especially when you have a hard of hearing person in your group.

Thanks for the review, Steph! We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed our bread, entrees, and desserts. We always strive to provide delicious meals for our guests, and we're glad you appreciated it. We apologize if the noise from the bar area affected your dining experience. We had a top notch evening from start to finish. Service and overall attention to detail was exceptional. All our food was delicious. We had both breakfast and dinner same day here and both were excellent. It has an authentic French brassiere vibe.

Beautiful space, but after that it went downhill. The food was luke warm to about room temperature. Would have been better if it was at least brought to the table at a decent temperature. However, their greatest fall was the service. Our server stated that he and another female were working in tandem. We only had interaction with the male wait staff. After the cold food arrived, we NEVER saw him again. We never had any drink refills, asked if we needed any thing else. Our plates were not taken off the table. Countless wait staff walked past our table and saw the table. Clearly no one appeared to be a team player. Then I had to stop a young man who was the bus boy and ask for our check. As we are leaving the restaurant we see our waiter. We were in town for Thanksgiving and we ate earlier in the day at Luke. Luke was by far the more superior restaurant. I would recommend Luke if considering a nice, quality establishment. They all worked as a team and were quite professional. King was more of a Peasant.

We went here for thanksgiving. We received a very warm welcome. The wait staff were very friendly. We got the bronzino which was one of the best I have ever had. Holiday side option would have been nice. But the fish was just perfect. And the thanksgiving platter was just the right size. The funny stuff. The rolls come in this enormous basket which is for looks I assume. But it was so huge with just four rolls It’s the little things in this place. Like taking away silverware and leaving you nothing.. No plates for rolls. This happened three times we had to hunt dating down. The broken cork in the wine. Etc. o we still had a great meal.

This is a cozy comfortable place with great food and staff, practically hiding next to the Fontenot Hotel, a short walk from Caesar's casino and the Canal and Poydras Street hotels and the Riverwalk. It has a lovely bar and excellent but not foo-foo menu. We'd love it even more if they turned the music down a bit, but we could hear each other. We'll be back.

We really enjoyed the ambiance, seating and drinks. The holiday cocktails were great. I love milk punch and the Papa Noel in the holiday themed glass was amazing. The service started off slow. It took a long time for the waitress to take our order so when she finally came, we ordered everything at once. After that, it all came out very quickly and the service was great. We ordered the bread service and gumbo which were both fantastic. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to enjoy our entrees. Probably partially my fault for not asking questions. I ordered the gulf fish which is always what I get no matter where I go so I didn’t think anything of it. I like fish and I’ve never had a problem. I always order fish. I guess I was expecting something more traditional, something that looked like a fish..white on the inside. When it came, it was sliced into chucks and pink on the inside, it almost looked like sashimi which I don’t eat. I couldn’t look at it. But I felt like I misunderstood so I didn’t want to send it back. I’m still not sure what it was. My husband ate it and gave me his burger but he had cheese and I don’t eat cheese so I really just ate the fries which were good. I still feel like it could have been more clear on the menu but maybe I didn’t read correctly. Giving it another try during the day with a large group on the Friday before Mardi Gras…hoping they’ll have some fun carnival drink specials because the drinks were a highlight!
