On October 4th, 2022 the Dutch red windmill opened her doors to Fred & Diana.

Diana is known for Diana's Pancakes, across Barcelo and before that, she was the owner of a similar pancake place next to the mill.

Fred is known for his former restaurants Chef's Tables, 2 Fools and a Bull and Fred Restaurant in downtown Oranjestad.

The two decided to work together and King Fred & Princess Diana was born. Diana delights guests with Dutch pancakes in the morning, while Fred takes the reins in the evening, serving a diverse range of international cuisine for dinner.

On the second floor you will find our souvenir shop that can be visited anytime upon request.

The third floor belongs to Frans, who is a well known bartender in the Aruban hospitality industry. He will serve you cold drinks for a reasonable price.

The restaurant is very reasonably priced and service is excellent. Mustard soup which everyone raves about was mild and creamy but I felt the flavor was nondescript and definitely didn’t taste any pungent taste of mustard. French onion special soup was very good. We ordered chicken cordon blue and chick parm. Chicken was tender in both and Gouda cheese mouse inside cordon was tasty but not enough of it. We felt both dishes were bland and lacked flavor but some people do not want garlic and spices in their food . Pasta under parm and mashed potatoes with cordon were tasteless.maybe I expected more or this is the menu geared for basic tastes.my mistake was not listening to server and getting mushroom sauce instead of truffle for cordon blue possibly . When I make at home I make a tarragon mushroom sauce , but again this menu I feel is geared to mild taste buds.

Every time we visit Aruba, a stop at King Fred’s is a tradition we wouldn't dream of skipping. Nestled inside the iconic red windmill. Our absolute favorite dish is the Beef Wellington, a masterpiece that requires ordering at least a day in advance and serves a minimum of 4 people. When it's just the two of us, we happily take leftovers to-go. Pairing the Beef Wellington with their famous Mustard Soup is a culinary experience that is simply unparalleled, this combo is hands-down my favorite meal on the island! The drinks are great too, mojitos rank as my personal favorite. Chef Fred is a true artist in the kitchen, crafting dishes with evident care and the freshest ingredients. The service team is equally exceptional, we have had Lucia many times—her warm and cheerful presence always adds to the dining experience. We also love heading upstairs to Drinks with Frans for a post-dinner drink, soaking in the unique experience at the top of the windmill and visiting with Frans. We even tried a special liquor from Holland. This is a must-visit spot for anyone coming to Aruba. We always leave with full hearts and even fuller stomachs!

Staff is very friendly and attentive. Food is excellent. We had the herb crusted grouper. Absolutely delicious. We always start with their brioche bread and special butter. Also amazing. Would definitely recommend.

We had dinner with Fred twice during our stay. His mustard soup is hearty and delicious. Tuna Tataki and Stuffed Ravioli appetizers were excellent. Best entree is the Drunk Chicken. One also had the Chicken Parmesan and loved it. Dessert is always the chocolate martini. Best one in Aruba and we have tried lots. Prices are extremely reasonable. Enjoy.

Trying this for the first time. Food was ok, mine was very salty for me but my husband didn’t think it was. We were extremely confused and bewildered as to why this restaurant charges 15 cents for water to each customer! Tap water not bottled. We been coming to Aruba for 36 years and always eat out. We have never come across this.

The mustard soup that my wife ordered was delicious. I had the chicken Parmesan, which was excellent, very juicy and without the usual breading ended up quite tasty. Prices were all very reasonable. My only zonk for a particular visits was the one of the dishes our party ordered was delayed and came out about 15 minutes after all of the other food were delivered, leaving one of our dinner party hanging. Desired that one snafu, our overall experience was positive and we will definitely add this restaurant to the repertoire for next visit.

Everything we hoped it would be. Mustard Soup and Drunk Chicken was worth the hype. Chicken Cordon Blu was also a winner!
