James Beard semi-finalist for Best Chef Texas and Top Chef Season 19 judge Kiran Verma, considered the ‘godmother of Indian fine dining,’ has created world-class north Indian cuisine at her eponymous restaurant. Come and enjoy good food and great service in a fabulous environment.

Signature dishes include rack of lamb with aloo methi, Chilean sea bass with mango chutney, chicken tikka masala and a vegetarian thali. Specialty cocktails range from the Jahangir Lassi (house-infused pineapple rum, passion fruit, mango lassi, pistachio) to a Chai Old Fashioned to a Cardamom Basil Gin & Tonic.

The restaurant serves Afternoon Tea every Friday, Saturday and Sunday - a four-course Indian and English tea experience. Chef Kiran has created her own chai blend.

From the OpenTable editors: At her namesake restaurant, 2023 James Beard semifinalist Kiran Verma serves up inventive dishes that pair traditional Indian flavors and techniques with local ingredients. The results are wholly unique: tandoori Texas quail with fig chutney or goat cheese and beet salad with masala cashews, for example. Food was great but the service was even better. Our waiter, Narayan, was probably some of the best service I have had. He was the perfect combination of attentive but distant. Never wanted for anything but also not bother too often. We had the oysters, lamb belly, chicken vindaloo and the sample platter of some vegetarian dishes. The lamb belly had to be our favorite but the lentils and egg plant came in close second.

Our server Rico was attentive, full of recommendations (and which were all winners) and we had an amazing time. The lamb vindaloo is a must have!

This was our second visit in a year and we were far from disappointed. We are vegetarian and got the Veg Korma, Tandoori veggies and paneer, and the Makki ki Roti. Korma was superbly spiced and the veggies were grilled to perfection. The roti was delicious - could have been a tad less oily. It was my birthday and they treated us to a fabulous Choco filled taco and Lemon custard type dessert. Service was good but slowed down a little as it got more crowded. Would highly recommend - relatively expensive but worth the money in my opinion.

This was our third time visiting the restaurant and each time the service and the good has been excellent. Our server, Denzel was very friendly and attentive.

Good reliable restaurant for classic Indian food. Thought the saffron rice was a little dry and flavorless, the lobster bisque was somewhat fishy but overall good food. Excellent service and lovely atmosphere.

My husband and I were seeking a quiet but lively New Years Eve experience. Words cannot convey our delight with exquisite cuisine from the fruit and nut infused Nan, chicken karma, delicious rack of lamb and best of saag paneer. We have always been enthusiastic Indian inspired cuisine but nobody does it like Kiran in Houston!!! The 3 piece jazz band accented our evening g creating a wonderful holiday mood!of course, mother-daughter team Kiran & Puja were both watching over every detail-a sparkling example of how successful small business owners care for-and are present for their patrons-even on holidays! Loved it all!!!!

New Year’s lunch at Kiran’s has become a tradition. The drinks were great and the food was outstanding. I loved the Indian French Onion soup.

I felt spoiled given the posh seating and decor, outstanding service, and divine cuisine. My chicken biryani made my tongue dance with delight. Everyone in our party loved their dishes.
