About this restaurant

  • Good for special occasions
  • Charming
  • Fancy
Kizaki is Chef Toshi Kizaki’s highly anticipated solo omakase restaurant, marking the peak of his remarkable career as one of Denver’s most influential chefs. After celebrating more than 40 years of success with his first restaurant, Sushi Den, Chef Toshi reconnects with his roots, paying deep respect to Edomae tradition—a 200-year-old Tokyo-style sushi that honors the integrity of each ingredient through authentic Japanese techniques. Kizaki offers Denver’s first true expression of Edomae-style sushi, with an omakase menu featuring approximately 20 courses showcasing raw, cured, seared, cooked, and dry-aged preparations. We offer a full bar, along with thoughtfully curated sake pairings, wine pairings, and a unique combination of sake and wine pairings to further elevate your Omakase experience. Omakase will start soon all guests arrive. Omakase at the counter or table is $225 before tax. Drinks, extra pieces of Sushi, and gratuities are not included.

An omakase sushi experience that exceeded expectations. Kizaki-San and his team provided a series of delicious dishes that were made with new flavors and ingredients that I had never tasted before - unique to say the least - a masterpiece of a meal. Thank you Kizaki-San, I’ll be back soon!

What's the best sushi/omakase experience you've ever had? In my case, I thought I knew what perfect omakase was. I'd eaten at one of the finest omakase spots in Tokyo, as well as spots in America -- like Sushi Den -- that gave me some superb meals. I guess it's time to recalibrate my idea of what "best" is in the omakase genre. Kizaki is a place that screams, "God is in the details". First, the building -- a temple of sushi that serves as an exercise in subtle perfection. Every bit of the design is beautifully and tastefully executed, down to the smallest detail -- including the rest rooms. Every serving vessel, plate, and bowl was chosen with great care and thought about how it would look and how it would feel in your hand. This theme carries through to every surface and detail in the restaurant. The staff maintains the expectations set by the environment. Good service is invisible, in the sense that it anticipates your needs before you have to articulate them. The service was incredibly attentive, without ever feeling instrusive. Finally, the food. Each and every ingredient is the absolute freshest and best obtainable. There is zero compromise; if they can't find the best they won't serve it. Each item served was the best I've ever had in that category. Uni (sea urchin) is something I've always avoided in the US; the uni at Kizaki is unlike anything else I've had. Same for the hand rolls, octopus, and everything else that was served (menu attached); it was all was simply beautiful, in both appearance and taste. In short, I've never had a finer meal. Kizaki gave us a spectacular experience that I'll never forget. Many thanks to Toshi and staff for making my wife's birthday dinner simply wonderful!

Toshi had me in tears by the end of the meal. We've been waiting for this moment for a full eight years when we first hear murmurings of his "retirement" plan, and Toshi exceeded all expectations. It is hands down the most authentic Edomae Omakase experience outside Japan. He brings his entire career's worth of skill, precision, authenticity, access to fish, and a team of experts to make an unforgettable, once in a lifetime experience. Each course was the best I'd ever had in Denver, and it was expertly paired with an unbelievable selection of sake. The staff beside Toshi each had a role that amplified and educated the diner throughout the meal. Although it was only the 5th night they had been open, it felt like the team had been performing their culinary dance together for decades. At the fear of never being able to get a reservation in again...I highly recommend trying your hardest to get a seat at THE most exclusive and memorable table in Denver.

The most amazing sushi / Japanese experience ever. We were able to make reservations for the restaurants opening weekend late seating and it was like being transported to another place. A unique and beautiful evening. Omakase dining was absolutely incredible.

Like dining at a Michelin star omakase counter in Tokyo. The benchmark for all other Japanese omakase restaurants on Denver.
