Everyone at the restaurant was helpful and the food was delicious. We tried pork boa buns and flavored perfectly. Also had coconut curry soup, lobster tempura and the fresh catch. All prepared well. Service excellent too.

I was a guest at The Fairmont Kea Lani this past week and had dinner for the first time at Ko. It’s spectacular setting facing out to one of the most beautiful beaches in South Maui and open air seating made for great ambiance. Our waiter was charming and attentive enough. Unfortunately, however, the food itself was very disappointing. The dishes we ordered were ill-conceived, utilizing ingredients that simply do not harmonize. The ingredients themselves were also not equal to the pricing. A surf & turf entree contained 3 bland Over cooked shrimp that were barely medium sized and steak that was allegedly Wagyu that was not flavorful or tender and most slices had sinew that was hard to bite through. It was served on a base of noodles had a peculiar creamy thick sauce that was somewhat dusky but overall had no flavor and did nothing to unify this dish. It was not at all tasty. A fish entree that was described as a white fish and similar to mahi mahi had a murky sauce that failed to compliment it and was also over cooked. Appetizers of honey lavender shrimp (way too heavy handed with the honey and no detectable notes of lavender) and chicken mushroom spring rolls (tasting of neither) were mostly fried wonton wrappers with little filling. We ordered 3 desserts; a hot banana bread skillet with vanilla ice cream, an ubu mochi and a chocolate chantilly cake. None were a home run but were a nice enough ending to the meal. Along with a gratuity and 2 of our party of 4 having one cocktail, this was a $500+ dinner. It is simply not fine dining.

Super delicious meals! Amazing flavours and care for accommodations for dietary restrictions. This also means that it’s all cooked fresh and customizable.

The Sunday brunch is outrageously overpriced for mediocre food. Take a hard pass on Ko and go to the Lobby Lounge or Nick’s Fishmarket instead.

For the same price you can get much better food elsewhere on the island.

Our dinners were wonderful, and the atmosphere lovely. The restaurant opens to the Fairmont’s beautiful grounds and is within walking distance to the beach. Fish was fresh and perfectly cooked and seasoned. We continue to dine at Ko for its exceptional service, food, and atmosphere.
