These trendy multi city restaurants are usually very hit and miss , you never know what you’re going to get. Komodo hits all the marks, great vibes, excellent cocktails, incredible service, and the food was delicious. They were very accommodating to our request, and the Staff really goes out of their way to ensure you have a great experience. Definitely worth the money that you’re going to spend because it is pricey, but looking forward to going back soon.

As expected a nice restaurant and nice food. The hamachi sashimi was great. The Chinese ribs and red fish were also good but pretty on par with those menu items anywhere. Nothing particularly special. Very cute restaurant for girls night or date night. Service was also good. I’ll be back

Disappointed by the Experience We arrived at Komodo about 45 minutes early for our 8:00 PM reservation and had no problem grabbing a drink at the bar while we waited. We checked in at the front desk, assuming they’d call us when our table was ready. After over an hour—about 1 hour and 15-20 minutes—I finally went up to ask if our table was coming up soon. The staff seemed surprised and it was pretty clear they had completely forgotten about us. Not the best first impression. They rushed us to a table after that, and once we sat down, our waiter came by to ask about drinks and appetizers, which was fine. But then he immediately pressured us to order our entrees too. I explained that we prefer to take our time and enjoy the evening, but he insisted he’d “time it out” in the kitchen. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. Our entrees showed up before the appetizers, which was pretty ridiculous. Then, about 10 minutes later, the appetizers arrived—out of order and way too late. The entire meal felt rushed, and we didn’t get a chance to enjoy it properly. For a place with Komodo’s reputation, I expected a more polished and well-paced experience. Instead, we felt like we were being hurried through from start to finish. Disappointing, and not somewhere I’d be quick to return to.

When we walked in none of the THREE hostesses standing at the podium greeted us, smiled, spoke anything. I looked from one to the other of them to say something and received zero response . I spoke and after taking a large sip from her tumbler one of the young ladies finally spoke back, almost begrudgingly. No smiles nothing, very lackadaisical. I was told to wait in the lounge area although I had a reservation and she had to scour her system for a seat (or so she made it seem). When we were finally shown to our table the hostess that was supposed to be guiding us to our table walked so far ahead of us we could barely keep up. I had on heels not close toed slip resistant mules. When we finally caught up and had a chance to take our seat the we noticed that the hostess placed chopsticks from another table onto ours using the same hands she’d just shuffled through three menus and opened the door with. At our table, we sat and we sat and we sat. I understand that weekend nights are busy ,but we weren’t acknowledged in any way. We saw a server in the vicinity of our table who I can only assume may have been our server. We would have been ok with a “hey I’ll be with you in a moment” but we received nothing. Even if the server we saw wasn’t actually our server, the fact remains no one ever came to our table! At this point the overall energy and service from the staff was subpar enough for us to not even want to continue the experience. We were treated as if we were being done a favor to be allowed to come spend OUR money at Kimmono . The great thing about Dallas is that there are several dining options, we went up the street and had wonderful food and service elsewhere. Maybe we just didn’t fit their ideal customer aesthetic, whatever! IG picture worthy decor but I wouldn’t recommend it if you value your overall dining experience. (I gave the food a 3 because I would not have been able to move forward with leaving a review, 5 and 0 wouldn’t have been fair)

I love Komodo Dallas been there many times but this time; I wasn’t satisfied with the service or the availability of the menu when it was time to order they really didn’t have what we were asking for.
