Waited 2 hours on the food. Manager didn’t seem concerned. Love the restaurant but the kitchen was a mess tonight!

Absolutely terrible. Waitress was no where to be found, gave us the wrong drink, food came out cold, steak came out overcooked and rubbery, green beans were cold, tempura shrimp had been sitting in the back so long the sauce soaked into the batter and it was soggy. The waitress kept trying to blame the kitchen staff but that did not seem to be the problem. The manager was wonderful in rectifying the situation. Really hope the upper management allows that manager to do what they need to do to fix that place, she was great. Loved the old Kona Grill, love one in Tampa, this one has a lot of work to do.

We went to Kona Grill for Mother’s Day and had a reservation for 10 people at 3:30. We were notified they were running about 30 minutes behind when we came in but it ended up being closer to an hour. The dinner menu was extremely limited for Mother’s Day. I chose this restaurant because of their extensive menu so it was disappointing to see there were very few options this day. We waited over a half hour for our food to arrive and was disappointed to see how small the portions were, especially the calamari appetizer for $23 and the Surf and Turf for $49 that only had 3 pieces of shrimp and a tiny filet. One of our guests had to wait an additional 15 minutes for his food and we were almost done with our food when his finally came. Even simple things like asking for salt and pepper took a long time. When we actually ate there were many open seats at the restaurant so it wasn’t actually that busy. No one ever apologized for our experience and it was expensive to have to deal with this. They certainly didn’t make us feel special on Mother’s Day.

It was Mother's Day, knowing that it would be busy, we made reservations for our group. There were a lot of people waiting when we arrived (15 minutes early) and were told it would be 15-20 minutes. One hour and 5 minutes later, our group was finally sat!! Not sure if it's a staffing issue - but with reservations - a short wait can be overlooked - but not an hour+. Ordered drinks from a server, finally got them from a different server who told us she was taking over our table, but they were out of lemons for iced tea and out of milk for the children's drinks. Placed an "appetizer" order & received it. Quite a while after receiving it, server returned to take our dinner orders, including 2 kids' meals. By then, we had ordered another round of drinks, including another Coors Light beer. They were out of Coors Light. Food was finally delivered, after a long time -- except for the kid's meals. The server apologized & brought the children French fries to give them something to eat. Kids meals were finally delivered a good 15 minutes AFTER the adults were completely finished with their meals!! (Although the one had ordered mini cheeseburgers & got mini hamburgers. Maybe they were out of cheese too??) We've never had such a poor dining experience as we had here. None of this was the server's fault. I'm not sure where all the problems were. It took over 30 min for every table to be cleared & reset for any of the customers waiting. (Meanwhile, all 4 hosts/hostesses - and possibly a manager too - stood around & did nothing to expedite turning the tables.) The kitchen seemed to be as efficient as the seating team. Orders took an exceptionally long time & I don't even know how to understand the kids meal situation. So - timely seating was non-existent & a joke. Food & drinks were average at best (but with a higher than average price!) Server did all she could, apologizing numerous times. We tipped her well as we always do - but this was a disaster! Never returning!

We had a nice time at Kona Grill. Unfortunately we had a reservation at 1:30 and we were not seated until 2:25, and we did not eat until 3:30. Granted it was Mother's Day and extremely busy so we understood, but waiting an hour for burgers and salads was a bit excessive. I'd love to go back on a day not so busy and when they offer their whole menu, as I was prepared to order off of their menu shown online, but they had a limited menu for Mother's Day. We made the best of it and had a nice time, but it definitely was not what I was expecting.

Despite waiting about 45 minutes to an hour past our reservation time, our server, Kimora, provided exceptional service, making the wait worthwhile. Thanks, Kimora, for your outstanding service!

Reservations at noon were NOT ready until after 1pm. The menu items for the Mothers Day Brunch were not publicized ahead of time. The price was not publicized ahead of time. We were NOT given the opportunity to choose if we wanted the Brunch or other items. They just started bringing out the Brunch to everyone. And barely received 1 mimosa. Took forever! Very frustrating service. I was actually in tears on Mother’s Day because I picked this restaurant and it was not a good experience for all of the Mothers.

Excellent food, however, made an online reservation and wasn’t able to be seated for an hour after the time we reserved. Lines were long and very busy. I expect busy on Mother’s Day but would have chosen a different day to come if I knew the time of the reservation was meaningless and we’d lose an hour just waiting.

We went for mother's day. It was our first visit. The menu was interesting with a bottomless brunch at $49/person. The menu was quite extensive (one order would have fed 4 people). Yet, we couldn't order just one. We ordered one brunch, one ribeye (medium rare) and some fries. The pastries came out first. And they were fine - blueberry muffins, croissants and cinnamon rolls. Then we waited 40 minutes for the rest of the food. The ribeye was well done, the, eggs over cooked and cold and the fries also cold. Rather disappointing for the price.
