   We had an early dinner on Sunday, it was a wonderful experience. The variety and quality of food was outstanding. The service was outstanding.

   If you love fresh tapas and good wine, you will certainly enjoy this place. The flavors were amazing. I was pretty much in heaven. Everything was so tasty. Must try of you’re in Santa Fe.

   A positively staggering experience. Our party of four was unanimous in our awe and appreciation for every single item that landed on our table. The service was excellent and the food was even better. The piri piri chicken wings, (can’t remember which) shrimp dish, and the artichoke wowed us, the cocktails (Mediterranean G&T and gin Negroni) blew us away. Dessert was right on par with the unbelievable gateau basque and the blood orange tart. Can’t wait for the next date night at Boca.

   La Boca remains a favorite for a reason, even on busy nights like Valentine's Day. Their small plates are truly exceptional, offering a delightful array of flavors best enjoyed by ordering a variety and sharing. The service is consistently top-notch, with perfectly paced dishes and knowledgeable wine recommendations. For us, La Boca is the best in Santa Fe.

   We drove to Santa Fe from Albuquerque to try La Boca for Valentine’s Day. As you can assume it was quite packed and the restaurant is not very large, but all of the servers and staff in the restaurant were very attentive and kind. We were talked through the Sherry Flight, and tried the 3 course tasting menu. First course was a soup or salad, so we ordered one of each. The main was a chorizo, goat cheese and chili sandwich, and dessert was a chocolate mousse. The spoon was a little larger for the mousse vessel but it was quite funny trying to figure out how to get everything out of the container. We even made acquaintances with the table next to us. Overall it was a nice time, I’d love to go back on a less busy day!

   The ambiance was that of a small family restaurant. Tables were close together and you couldn’t avoid having conversations with your neighbors. It was noisy and fun. The food was a mixed bag. The highlight was the black mussels in coconut salsa verde. They were really delish. My husband used a spoon to eat up all of the wonderful green sauce. The disappointment was the classic paella. The only flavor we could taste was HOT. I have eaten paella in Spain, Portugal and in many restaurants in the U.S. and in other countries and it was never overly spicy. The best paellas have had complex flavors and it has always been a favorite dish to order. This paella was fair to mediocre. My advice is don’t bother. Dessert was very good. We had a cake with crème fraise and cherries. The sangria was also just mediocre. I have had ( and made) much better. So, if you order the right things, I suspect that you can get a terrific meal. Unfortunately, we didn’t order the right things.

    Best meal of a 6day vaca skiing outside Durango, returning to ABQ for flight home on a strict (and somewhat tight schedule. Ordered 5 courses. All came sequentially and were very different. All were well prepared. Also paired great with the Ribero drl Duoro recommended by our server. Great vibe. Never felt rushed. Highly recommend.
