Very disappointing firstly the smell in the cellar was overpowering and when food is being served this is not good. We were a party of 13 and we were beside another large party and everyone commented on the smell. I did mention it to our waiter and he explained that when it rained it was bad. The overall look is very run down and shabby, wonky chairs about to fall apart and table scratched and not covered with cloths just overall very worn and not clean.

That said, the hurricanes on the night of your visit may have caused some unexpected humidity in the cellar, a factor beyond our control. We’ve carefully curated a rustic theme to complement the character of our historic cellar, and it’s a feature that many of our guests appreciate. However, we understand it might not align with everyone’s tastes. For those who prefer a modern aesthetic, our ground floor offers new furnishings and a different atmosphere. As for tablecloths, we believe every restaurant has its unique vibe, so a bit of research beforehand can always help match your preferences with the right experience:) All the best, The La Caverna Team

Food and service was very good. My friend ordered a Guinness though and it was the worst looking pint I’ve ever seen. So maybe stick to the wine which was good.

Lovely little restaurant in a bustling part of the city. The downstairs seating area is intimate without feeling crowded. Brilliant selection of wines available and a wonderful menu. Some dishes are slightly pricey but definitely worth the money paid. Staff are friendly and attentive and willing to cater to additional requests. Would definitely recommend and visit again
