   Night and day of an experience we had this time around versus the first time we came here. The service was on point and the food was exceptional! Definitely will come back.

   Went here for our 47th wedding anniversary with family. All in all, everyone was very satisfied with their entrees, and enjoyed the starters. Drinks were good. However, I’m a big balk chicken guy whenever it’s offered on a menu, and I was pleased to see the offering, so I ordered it. It was, without a doubt, the worst half chicken I have ever had. First, it was flavorless. Weakly and poorly seasoned throughout. Second, the meat itself was overly boney, loaded with chewy gristle that I constantly had to remove from my mouth in front of everyone, and the breast was chewy and kind of disgusting. A HUGE disappointment for me personally, as it was my wife’s and my celebration. The ambiance is nothing special, and for the price, the wait staff was sub par. Super nice people, but not on the level of a fine restaurant. Frankly, we were looking for a new restaurant to take the place of the recently closed Kiki’s, arguable the finest bistro ever to exist in Chicago. La Grande Boucherie is not it. And the price/value is out of whack.

   All of our food was cold. Potato puree was gluey and Bernaise sauce was lumpy and cold. Only thing that saved the evening was that all the wine was 50 percent off and we had a really nice Bordeaux. At least the cold items were good, stick with oysters, wine and salad. Maybe it was an off night…

   This was my second trip back, and I had a much better experience than my first time. The Lyonnaise salad is super, and you should defiantly get some oysters and champagne. The filet was good, and the mash potatoes were divine. I highly recommend the mousse au chocolat. I feel like the restaurant really wants everyone to have a great experience. I appreciate the level of customer service that they offer.

   Our first time to this restaurant. It was a great experience and the food was delicious. I will definitely be coming back here the next time we are in the city

   It was a wonderful experience, service was amazing, food was so fresh and delicious, and the ambiance was the best. Thank you dear Scott (GM), and Mathew (assistant manager) you made of my birthdays dinner the best. I highly recommend it to anyone for birthday celebrations and special occasions.
