Chef Carlos grew up in Mexico City in a food culture as diverse and unique as any in the world. After leaving Mexico when he was 19, he spent many years working in kitchens across the US and discovering his passion for creating food that everyone can enjoy.
Hard work and dedication through his training at La Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts Institute landed him a highly coveted gig at a Michelin-starred restaurant in California before he finally made his way to Canada.
In Edmonton, Chef Carlos and his business partner - Janette, started the Casa12Doce food truck. Set up for many years, Casa12Doce became not only a staple of the food truck scene but also of the community.
The delicious, authentic food created a following so loyal that when Chef Carlos and Janette decided to open a restaurant in 2016, it did not take long for the place to fill up regularly.

    This was a return visit and we were not disappointed. Tried the tortilla soup for the first time and it was so good we almost swooned. The Chile Rellano special was a fabulous treat. Service was friendly and prompt

    Always great! The food and the service are top notch. We will keep going back. It’s a small space, so it can be noisy, but if you aren’t expecting an intimate candle light dinner, you are in for the best Mexican food around.

    We enjoyed our stay as always, the food, service was awesome. We have never had a bad meal or service, we will be back. We did miss Carol but the others were amazing always. Thank you La Patrona, out standing See ya soon. Rick and Bonny Attwood

    Great experience! My only tip is that you should advertise on your menu your GF options. Our server let me know that most items were available which was such good news. But the menu didn't note that at all. I think for the GF people, this would be great to know ahead of time. The food was delicious and atmosphere was lovely.

    We had trouble hearing the server. We ordered a queso appetizer that we never received and wasn't on the bill. So the server must not have heard that. Our main course showed up to our surprise as the appetizer hadn't come out yet. My wife asked about the appetizer and the person who brought the main course out ignored that and walked away. We didn't see the server again, so we couldn't ask or order another drink until we were finished our dinner. She asked at that point if we wanted water and we said no, could we get the bill. Then we left and went to a pub to enjoy the rest of our evening. Good was delicious though.
