Wonderful service for our group of 7. The bread, broccolini, and wedge salad are delicious. It is noisy when trying to have conversations at a large table.

Loud atmosphere, lackluster food. Wish it was better! Love that they have a wood fired oven, but our food was served at a tepid temperature. Fig and prosciutto pizza had a decent flavor, but it was just dry and unremarkable. More cheese or adding a white sauce, more balsamic, and serving at a warmer temp could help. Crust texture and flavor was 8/10 Pasta Bolognese was utterly disappointing. Served room temperature, lacked flavor. Not a good value at all at 28.00 :/ spices to add depth, fresh basil, and serving hot could improve. Pasta is made in house and was cooked just right. Chicken pizza was pretty unappealing- bottom crust was wet and soggy, and had a doughy uncooked taste to it. Rehauling the bechamel recipe and cooking the bottom could help, crust may need to be partially cooked before adding the sauce and toppings. The cocktails were good, but felt a little overpriced. Would return maybe for drinks and apps during happy hour. C’mon La Riv (and Georgetown restaurants in general…) - you can do better!

Overall a truly great dinner. The only little bump we ran into was my party and I sat for about an hour and 15 minutes before our entrees came out of the kitchen. The management was apologetic on behalf of the wait and went on to explain there was new kitchen staff tonight and this was their first dinner rush as a team. A situation I can definitely be empathetic towards. The ambiance was fantastic so the wait wasn’t a big issue. That paired with our fantastic server and amazing food made the night a 10/10 despite the unexpected length of our dinner. I highly recommend this place to those who have never been.

Our waiter, Roland, was great. He asked the kitchen all the questions we had. The mid rare steak was tough. The pizza was flimsy. Our waiter did everything he could to make us happy.

We had a wonderful experience at La Riv. Our waiter was very attentive and the food was amazing. I had the ravioli and my hubby had the spaghetti and meatballs. The food tasted so fresh and the flavors were great. Bradley our waiter treated us to a dessert for our special occasion. And the owner Vera came over to our table and was very gracious. We will be going back !

We ordered the mussels, Caesar salad and pappadelle with short rib. Mussels were great, salad was good, pappadelle was awful. Sure didn't look like the picture. Two small pieces of short rib and one was nothing but a hunk of fat with a morsel of meat. The fat was literally half off the meat prob and inedible. On top was this layer of what appeared to be grated parmesan with parsley, but it was all just a plate of a congealed mess. Looked disgusting. Very disappointing. I spoke to the server but got no response from the chef or management. This place isn't what it was when itt opened.

After reading all the positive reviews I thought to try this restaurant. And what a shock - not sure where all the good reviews came from. I ordered the meatball which was no better than at north Italia. I ordered the pappardelle with braised short ribs and the shrimp in pesto. These dishes took over an hour to arrive and were cool to the touch. Had to be sent back to be warmed. Pasta was average - nothing to write home about. And the braised short ribs were inedible they were so full of fat. If you’re going to charge $160 for this dinner (with wine) you need to massively improve your food and service.

Our first time here. Service was outstanding. We enjoyed the cheese plate, focaccia and shared a farmhouse salad. (It was the best). We all enjoyed pasta dishes. Overall great experience. We will definitely return.

This was our first visit to La Riv - Georgetown. Great diverse Saturday night crowd, great service, great food. There are very good places to dine in Georgetown and this is certainly one of them. La Riv is located right in the heart of town with a very safe and secure location. So, get a reservation because the place fills up quickly, enjoy the food, and enjoy the small time but very active vibe!

Idk I feel like I paid alot of money for terrible food . I usually don’t criticize, but the ribeye barely had edible pieces. My creamy pasta had zero cream… where was the cream? Personally wouldn’t return, wish it was better because with our schedules & kiddos we only get to do this like 3x a year.
