La Stella Cucina Verace is a family-owned and operated Italian restaurant. The name Verace, meaning "authentic" in Italian, reflects the essence of the family who immigrated from Naples, Italy, to Texas. Now rooted in the Lone Star State, the name La Stella ("The Star") symbolizes their journey. The family's goal in opening La Stella was simply to share their generational passion for authentic, verace (quality-driven) Italian recipes, complemented by warm Southern Italian hospitality.

We had a wonderful experience at La Stella. The cocktails and food were great and our server, Amanda, was perfect. Also the live music was very nice by Melanie Skybell. All the restaurant staff was friendly and welcoming. Favorite Italian place in Dallas. :-)

Have dined here in a while and that was our loss. The experience was excellent. The service very attentive and engaging and the food was delicious. You were never left for wanting anything as people were always professionally available if needed. We will be back very soon.

They sat our family of 4 at a huge table for 8-10 people. We asked for a smaller table and they looked and then said no. We had our reservation for over a month. We told them we were headed to a musical and service was still exceptionally slow. Our entrees arrived 50 minutes after ordering. Two of the four entrees were dry and not warm. And the spinach that accompanied my fish just tasted overwhelmingly like garlic. No balance or nuance… just like I was eating a clove of garlic. It was a stressful and unsatisfying experience. We won’t be going back.

The food was great, octopus, carrots, filets, pasta, scallops, and cannoli were ALL superb. Def not a great value, esp when it came to the wine list. SUPER LOUD. We were seated behind the bar area despite having reservations for quite some time and being dressed to the nines (velvet, mink, etc) which I didn't appreciate. It was freezing; asked them to turn off the a/c and they adjusted it temporarily then it came back on full force. It was 40 degrees outside. Service was not quite commiserate with the prices ... although our server was great with recommendations. Again, just too loud for a nice dinner out on the town.

Everything was great except one thing. Our table felt a bit small and was uneven so we had to deal with the rocking throughout - not great.

La Stella just keeps getting better and it shows in the increased volume of diners recently. I was told that the previous evening was the best for sales total since opening. It’s a beautiful restaurant, the service is extraordinary, and the cuisine is the best it has ever been. I ate at the bar this evening as the restaurant was otherwise fully committed, and Christian took great care of me. So glad to once again have a restaurant in the heart of the arts district that I am excited to eat at on a regular basis. Flora Street Café was that for me, and now I can say that La Stella has risen to the occasion!

Service was not up to par for price range. We were sat 30 minutes after reservation. We were asked multiple times to get out of the way while we stood by the front waiting to be sat - management squeezed two extra tables into the waiting area - felt very strange. Hostess was rather inexperienced with fine dining customs, and the restaurant could clearly benefit from a maitre d'. After being sat, the sommelier was very friendly and knowledgeable. Although the servers were friendly, they were not familiar with fine dining etiquette. They brought wrong dishes to each person and kept dropping silverware.
