Come dine in The Oldest Tapas Bar in Scotland Since we opened in 2003, La Tortilla Asesina has established itself as one of Inverness's most popular restaurants.

It has developed a unique selection of paellas, some classic spanish paellas and some original local paellas. We have developed paella into a dish for any taste and any occasion, including delivery!

We have a large range of tapas which you can treat as a meal, or as a starter to a meal. There are tapas to suit all tastes and we have some signature dishes that are unique to the restaurant, like our gambas pil-pil and our garlic chicken .. they have to be tried.

We also have a range of specialist drinks that you won't find anywhere else, like our range of sangrias. We go to a lot of trouble to offer an interesting and affordable range of Spanish wine to have in the restaurant or to take away.

The food and service was outstanding. Had Paella to share, before that Patatas Bravas, Serrano Ham and Manchego cheese. Then Creme Catalana with a coffee and liqueur

The staff were very helpful when I had trouble with the online booking. The meal was excellent and staff advice on portion sizes was good. Waitresses were attentive but not intrusive. Only problem was with parking, hardly the fault of the restaurant. Having a blue badge passenger was helpful!

We ordered four dishes. The fish in batter was good as were the aubergines. However, the patatas braves were poor and seemed to be potatoes with a spoonful of mayonnaise and a spoonful of tomato sauce placed on top. Similarly the mussels were poor. Nicely cooked but spoiled by having a gloopy sauce poured over them. The red wine was served too warm. The waiter seemed bored. The person who presented our bill was not interested in what we had to say. We will not be returning.

Lucky find in Inverness. Tasty tapas, very fresh ingredients, authentic and tasty, every tapas we ordered was perfect, prawns, meatballs, callamari, chorizo. Desserts were fabulous too, would definitely recommend the date tart and fig ice cream. Would be good if they also had a kids menu, unfortunately we will only return again when we don't have kids with us. We were the only people there and the waiter/owner was very attentive, knowledgeable and helpful.
