   Absolutely wonderful experience. Our first trip to this restaurant. The food is incredible the service was exceptional. Booked them big event in a few weeks. Highly recommend it.

   Usually one of our favorites but this last visit did not go as well. My daughter ordered the plum ravioli which is usually delicious but this time tasted weird and the meat was overcooked. Three of the guys got the lobster ravioli and the lobster was tough and the raviolis were too big and the pasta weird. I had the beef short rib tortellini and it was delicious as always. Our waiter was absent most of the night. He was not attentive and we had to flag him down several times. My 24 year old son even made a comment on how bad the waiter was and he is usually oblivious. Usually service is outstanding. We will eventually be back but it was a disappointment all around.

   One of our favorite restaurants in Sarasota, La Violetta makes truly delicious Italian food with the finest ingredients. Emilio, the Chef/Owner, is a master and is always coming up with new and creative menu items. Last night, one of the specials was a lobster tail with lobster ravioli with four different kinds of pasta wraps. It was beautiful and delicious. Rosie, his wife, is a cheerful and welcoming presence in the restaurant and brightens the place up. Not easy to get into the restaurant, so make sure you make a reservation early.

   The atmosphere in the restaurant was pleasant, the food in most cases was good, but felt that some of the dishes were overpriced. Our service was slow and inattentive, dinner for 4 of us was over 2.5 hours, it's not like we wanted to eat and run, but 2.5 hours is a bit too much and the restaurant was not that busy.

   La Violetta is always a treat. The menu is extraordinary - so many choices and many of them unusual rather than the same old Italian favorites. We shared the smoked sweetbreads appetizer and it was delicious. My husband then had one of their steaks. He decided not to go for the dry-aged (although they looked wonderful) and it was very good. I had the tortellini on short rib ragu and it was simply delicious. I love that they have quite a few specials every night. There are so many good things offered. It's hard to make a choice. Easily my favorite restaurant in Sarasota.

    As usual, the dinner was spectacular. My wife’s fish was done perfectly and my duck ravioli was magnificent. Our service was very prompt and professional. Keep up the outstanding work.
