   I don't even know where to start. My wife and I have been trying to get into La Wagyeria pretty since it came to Austin, but always had something come up in the 11th hour. Boy was it worth the wait. The place looks amazing, service is easily the best I've ever had, and the entire experience was pretty fantastic. The food...is an entirely different story. I can sit here and give you a 2500 word essay on how great it was, but I'll say this instead: one of the best meals, date nights, and anniversary dinners I've ever had all in one. My wife was floored with how great everything was, and we've found our new date night haunt. Thank y'all!

   Our reservation was at 7:30 pm and we weren’t allowed to select our steak until ~8:45, then had to wait another 20 mins to have them cook it. Then to top it off, my steak was under cooked when they served it! It’s one thing if the food blew my socks off but it was average. The croquettes and orzo were ok, nothing special but not bad. The potatoes served with the steaks were a little salty. The side salad wasn’t even a salad, it was some greens, an oddly chopped tomato, and an insane amount of red onions that still had such a strong bite to them. Granted all of this wouldn’t have been so bad if we didn’t have to wait over an hour just to select our cut. The time management within the staff is run poorly and until it gets fixed, or they figure out a better routine to select the steak, we won’t be back. Actually, even if they do fix it, we won’t be back. Average food for an insanely high price.

   The staff and food were incredible! Attention to detail and a very attentive staff checking in at every moment they could which was great because we had a bigger party and were replenishing drinks and apps quicker. This experience was worth every dollar spent. The steaks were to die for! Would definitely come back.

   The food was really good, but the ambiance was awkward. It was their last week and it seemed like the first night. Our server had vague recommendations and was slow. We were the only ones there for the first 30 minutes. They have you watch a video talking about the farm and their process (which was interesting), but seemed like something that could been explained to us at the table rather making it feel like a classroom. The price point is fine dining, but the experience was not.

   Loved the whole experience, getting to meet the ranch owners and pick our cut of meat. Marked down on ambiance because table settings etc were very “meh” but also…it’s just a pop up, so that’s hard to create magic for a temporary restaurant! Would have appreciated a more robust appetizer offering.

    Great food! Amazing experience. Watch what steak you pick if you're looking at prices. Our bill was very expensive.
