Let me tell you about the worst Valentines experience I’ve ever had. My fiancé and I have eaten at the restaurant on Cooper River and for the most part, have enjoyed it. We were hoping for the same food/experience at this restaurant as well. Once we were seated, we waited about 20 minutes for a “waitress” (who happened to be the hostess) come over and ask for our drinks. We also just learned that they were only running the Valentine’s Day special. That being said we picked out our food and placed our orders. We waited then about 30-45 for our salads to come out. Salad was ok, didn’t really taste like there was an Cesar dressing on it, but we were starving so we ate most of it. After that, we waited another 30-45 minutes for the appetizer to come out. We ordered sausage and peppers and risotto balls. They brought out the risotto balls, but also put down cheesesteak egg rolls. We let the staff know we did not order those and wanted the sausage and peppers. We waited another 30 minutes and our entree was brought out. In that time one of the staff members notified us that our “waitress” had walked out and left. She told us there was only 1 person cooking and that the owner did not prepare for this evening accordingly. After our entree came out, we ate most of it, the salmon was actually pretty good. But the potatoes were dry as hell, I pushed them to the side. My fiancé got the chicken san remo, which she enjoyed for the most part. Then we waited for dessert, for another 30 minutes and mind you, we did not get our sausage and pepper appetizer yet. In this time we saw the “manager” give a family their meal for free because they had been there for 2.5 hours and didn’t get entrees. My fiancé was frustrated and walked to the front and asked for the check because we did not feel like waiting any longer. We thanked a few of the staff members who had clearly “jumped in” and tried to help out. We will never go back to this location EVER again. Very disappointing.

I waited 2 hours for my entree. Our waitress quit in the middle of the shift. The chef was verbally abusive towards staff which we witnessed because the kitchen is in the front of the restaurant in clear view. Staff was arguing with the chef due to his attitude. Our food was room temperature when we received it. One of the worse experiences I ever had!

The worst service I’ve ever experienced. Food was decent but the customer service left a bad taste in my mouth for this place.

I hate having to give a negative review, but we were both very disappointed at Pronto. While the mussels in red sauce were good, the bread was terrible and there were no spoons provided. The pizza also was tasty, but wasn't baked long enough. The service bordered on terrible. The server was a young girl who either was disinterested or didn't understand many of the basics of service. Quite possibly, she wasn't fully or properly trained. Most of the time, she did what we asked, or what she thought we asked - when we could find her. She continuously left dirty dishes that we had moved to the edge of the table, so they could be removed, because they were crowing the table and making eating difficult. We also asked how long it would take to bake the pizza and not to put in the order until we were served our mussels - so that we would have time to finish the mussels. That didn't happen - I was still eating when the pizza was served AND she tried to remove the mussels bowl in front of me before I was finished. Oh yeah, while the mussels were tasty, there were about 6 or 7 that had not opened (so not safe to eat) and another four or five with big pieces of shell cracked off and served in the bowl, instead of making sure they were removed. Essentially the service was mediocre and the attention to both detail and requests was substandard. In contrast, LaScala's Birra, in Pennsauken, NJ was very good both times we were there. Also, we had a 7:00 PM Saturday night reservation at Pronto, but found it to be unnecessary. There were plenty of tables available. If you go to the Pennsauken location, as I would recommend, reservations are generally a must.

My favorite Italian little gem! This time I had the Seafood Fusilli.....shrimp, scallops and crabmeat ...delicious! Waitress was very nice and attentive. Even the cook came by to check on us. My friend had seafood ravioli and loved it. Can't wait to go back! They never disappoint.

Very consistent food quality and fine detail to presentation. This said, I’ve dined here numerous times on weekdays, for business [dinners], where there are a literally a handful of patrons, and have never “tested” them on the weekend. I would assume it’s similar or the same as it looks like they are well managed and run a tight ship. My youngest son owns a very prosperous restaurant and 2 gourmet food trucks. This association gives me a much higher level of appreciation and respect for the restaurant business and the hard work, dedication and devotion required in their efforts to maintain order and long term success. LaScala seems to exemplify this policy.
