   This was my second visit to this location this year. Really love the Chicago location and was excited that we now have the Lake Forest one. My 2 friends and I wanted to celebrate the holidays by enjoying a nice evening with good food drinks and conversation. The restaurant was beautiful, yummy drinks, excellent entrees and our server, Anada was incredible. We were having such a wonderful time. Shortly after being served our deserts, our service came by with the bill and informed us that the manager, Paul wanted us to know that people with reservations were waiting for the table. (We had a reservation too). We asked to speak to him. We informed him that many others in the restaurant were already seated before us yet they were not being basically asked to hurry up and leave. He didn't provide a valid reason to us other than claiming they needed our table for 4 (even though there was an empty one beside us for 4). Our mood quickly went from happy and upbeat, to quiet and disappointed. This was humiliating to us, no one else in the reservation was being forced to hurry up and leave. He also told us that our reservation was made that day, it was not. I booked almost a week ago. Needless to say, if we ever go there again we will call to make sure Paul is not working that day. What a letdown. Thanks to Anada for making us feel special despite the circumstances. It made everyone very uncomfortable. Paul needs to put people first, his behavior was blatant and unacceptable.

   Steak limited amount beef more veggies and lettuce Shrimp taste limited spice Good house salad and great Brussel sprouts did not serve bread. Duck limited taste

   Service and drinks are excellent. Food is spicy and everything is hit with red pepper in different forms.

   Our party of 6 was celebrating a milestone birthday, while the food was absolutely delicious, the service was extremely inattentive. Our server must have had far too many tables or was preoccupied with other tasks elevate in the restaurant because he seldom visited us. At the restaurants price point, I find this inexcusable and will likely not return with my family.

   Service was slow. Had to ask for someone to come and take a drink order and at 6:00 the restaurant was not busy. Food was excellent as usual and the space and decor are excellent.

   Everything we ordered was excellent and the staff was great about suggesting dishes and cocktails/wine we would like.

   We dined as a family, for my 60th birthday, which was post in the notes with the reservation. Not asking for elaborate fanfare, but considering it was a $450 bill, didn’t even get a HBD scrolled in my dinner plate with a sauce or extra flower in a drink. We dined early, so the place was not crowded and chaotic… simply felt like we were plug n’ play, get them in and out. We love Le Colonial in both locations, this was the first “flat” experience when dining. Hoping it was an off night, and my husband was very turned off to return again.

    As usual, Le Colonial Lake Forest did not disappoint. The ambiance is gorgeous, we were spoiled by our waiter, and the food was outstanding. A fantastic place to spend time with dear friends and loved ones. Thank you Le Colonial Lake Forest for another stellar meal and experience.
