   Superb food and service. Couldn’t fault anything except perhaps the old building it’s housed in which meant a lot of tables in the restaurant were a bit cold to sit at during the winter in Montreal

   Chef tasting menu may or may not be your thing but I have an eclectic palate and chef Loyd did an excellent job The first dish - scallops - was superb. That set the tone and the sea bass conclusion was even better.

   Le restaurant est très bien situé. Nous avons annulé une réservation au Jatoba pour aller la. Les commentaires étaient tous bons et l’accord cocktail/mets avait piqué notre curiosité. Par contre, bcp trop cher pour l’ensemble et la qualité des plats. C’était bon certes mais sans plus. 350$ pour deux personnes il y a des biens meilleurs restaurants dans le coin où vous aller vivre une expérience pour votre argent .

   Really lovely meal. The servers were super attentive & knowledgeable. Our waitress helped us select a wine to match the menu. The menu was quite fish heavy but as to be expected on a seasonal menu.

   Our experience at La Gargamelle was the best I’ve had in a long time! My partner and I drove out to Montreal for an early birthday celebration and decided to try out the five course tasting menu. The quality of the food, paired with the delicious cocktails was above and beyond. The care that Manu and Lloyd put into the customer service and food preparation made us feel as if we were family. Mikael even brought out the Tuna Heart (a delicious and surprising addition to the devilled egg course) for us to see. If you are looking for a unique and delectable dining experience, I highly recommend La Gargamelle.

   The setup of the restaurant is very cool, through a bar and into the back area. Very exclusive feeling. Tables were spaced out and we had a great one overlooking the river and road. Plenty to watch over the next 3:15. We did the 6 course tasting. The welcome broth was delicious and balanced and a great way to start. The food was good, but for the cost seemed overpriced (leveled up deviled eggs and tofu can’t cost much) and the drinks were great. It was long but we were celebrating my wife’s birthday which nobody seemed to know. The chef was nice and had a progressive amount of fun with a table doing shots as the night progressed. But in the end it was a bit loud and surprising. We booked last minute so maybe they weren’t expecting to put together a tasting menu this evening as they seemed to be making it up as they went along. Cocktails were excellent! The server was also very nice! I guess just an overall disappointing experience for the price.

   J’avais des appréhensions qui se sont avérées. Malheureusement, la scène culinaire de Montréal est trop bonne pour qu’on puisse apprécier. Le repas est correct sans plus. Rien qui ne justifie le prix astronomique de ce restaurant situé dans le secteur le plus touristique de Montréal et les prix qui l’accompagnent.

   We had an outstanding experience at Le Gargamelle. We each got the 6 course meal, and every course was wonderful. The cured scallop was a favorite, but then so was the hamachi crudo, and the venison ragu…. It says a lot about the quality of the chef when the vegetable course, with winter vegetables, was a favorite of the table. And the service was amazing. Our 15yo asked for a mocktail similar to what he has had at a restaurant near home, and the bartenders did not disappoint—they made two, as a challenge, and were both excellent. Great food, great service, great physical space, and we will be back on our next trip to Montreal.

    The chef/owner was awesome. My daughter and i had a blast. Highly recommend the cocktail pairing. Excellent dining experience.
