To welcome in 2025 we are offering a special lunch and pre-theatre menu. £20 for 2 courses and £25 for 3 (plus service). It is an amazing bargain for the whole of January.

L'Escargot is London's oldest and most celebrated French restaurant serving classic French dishes. Favourite dishes include French onion soup, Lobster bisque, oysters, Tournedos "Rossini", grilled lobster, Chateaubriand and of course snails ! L'Escargot was voted one of the most romantic restaurants in London and is a perfect spot to celebrate a birthday or anniversary.

If you want to come in just for a drink, upstairs there is a great cocktail bar with reasonably priced cocktails and a bar snack menu.

The restaurant has welcomed celebrities such as Coco Chanel, Charles de Gaulle, Maurice Chevalier, Laurence Olivier, Lucien Freud and Francis Bacon. and was a favourite of Princess Diana

L'Escargot is located close to all the major West-End theatres, which makes it an excellent pre and post theatre dining spot.

Nice setting and good service. Great wine list. Food was okay for this price point, but fell short of excellent. (Duck was a little over, langoustine bisque was ok but nothing special).

A great place to dine. Very in-keeping decor for the age of the building and welcoming too. Tables not crammed in either so you talk to each other freely. The menu had a great range in its offering. I had the Escargot which was great, very well cooked in a fantastic garlic sauce. We both had Confit of Duck. Meat fell apart and the braised whit Beans were really tasty but the Duck was just a little too Salty for us which is why the food is 4 stars and not 5. It could be perfect for others. Wine by the glass had a good choice to choose from. Crème Brûlée was as good as it should be. We highly recommend L’Escargot and will definitely return.

The type of service you want. Enough without the constant upsell but enough that your glass is never empty. A beautiful touch when they gave us a hand written card and chocolates to celebrate our anniversary which was mentioned at the very start of the meal. Will be back for sure

Delighted with our meal here. The food is well-executed versions of French classics. The Languoustine bisque had a lovely rounded flavour, and the confit of duck didn't disappoint. Service is friendly and energetic, and pleasingly informal. The wine list felt like good value, and there is a good and interesting selection of cocktails. Our bill was £273 for two, including a £70 bottle of Chablis and service
