   I took advantage of Restaurant Week to return to L'Express, a familiar, friendly and reliable hangout a half block from my office. I've been going there since it opened thirty years ago, almost coinciding with my firm's first 10-year lease. It's no long a 24/7 dive. Covid took care of that. But what has not changed is the familial warm standard that it has remained in the neighborhood: a place where you can go for an excellent burger, an omelette, a nice piece of fish almost anytime of the day or night.

   Service is not attentive at all, had to ask for water and bread refill numerous times, as well as the table was not cleared until we asked even when it was obvious that plates are empty and garbage. Even though everyone was pleasant in communication it looks like there's a lack of personal. Concerning the food, it felt like the butter and cooking oil were not fresh enough as it reflects in specific taste and aftertaste on food. Nevertheless atmosphere was pleasant and welcoming. Hope those defects will be fixed soon.

   Very warm and inviting place with delicious food and our waitress Carmen was excellent! Highly recommend the crème brûlée for dessert.

   Exquisite everything. The 1664 draft is perfect, steak tare tare was the most fresh. Service was great. Thank you

   The steak tartar downgraded -- no longer table side. The artichoke had too much citrus can't taste the artichoke. The french onion soup and escargot still has its standard but average. The service was horrible - had to ask for water and bread several times. They won't bother come fill your water. Had to go find someone to order food when it is not busy. Definitely no longer the same place versus before.

   Just like their other restaurants, it's very good. Pricey but good. Nice atmosphere, great food, and overall very good.

   This is one of my favorite restaurant in NYC. The reason I gave 3 stars due to the change on their menu and food items. I normally go there to taste “the duck”. We went last night and found, they added pork fat and sausage in this item. It’s against my religion which I can’t eat anymore. I really missed the old item. Other than that everything is still the same and I always like to go there but with food items changes, they may loose Muslim customers.
