   Four family members from out of state and I had dinner tonight at The Lighthouse Restaurant. The holiday spirit was alive with beautiful and festive decorations and lovely live music. The food was awesome. Four of us had steaks, three filet mignons and one top sirloin. The steaks were totally tender, cooked to perfection, the salads crisp and fresh, potatoes and vegetables tasty and cooked just right, the warm bread and butter delicious and the Grouper which the fifth person in our party had was scrumptious. Our waitress was very pleasant and patient and very attentive and helpful. We had a wonderful dining experience and I cannot wait to get back for another exceptional meal.

   The Lighthouse Restaurant ioverlooks beautiful Cedar Lake. The restaurant is especially beautiful during the holidays. The food is very good for its value.

   The only positive I can give in its entirety was that the calamari was delicious. My scallops were good, but the risotto harden on the outside. I kept having to mix it up and it got gummy. My husband's steak was cooked to medium rare, but the horseradish topping was just ok and the caramelized onions were stringy and mushy, very little texture to them. His garlic mashed (which was a portion that was over twice the size of the filet) also had a weird outside crust, like the risotto, he said only the inside was edible and ate it like a baked potato, if you don't eat the skin. We ordered my son the kids filet also med rare. It was closer to med well. He ate it b/c he was hungry but it was extremely hard to cut with the butter knife we had. No one was given an actual steak knife. The "warm" chocolate chip cookie was so hard, barely room temp, and the ice cream tasted like it had freezer burn. All in all, as many times as we've gone, this was such a disappointment. I don't think we'll be back, which is sad b/c the calamari really is good with the cherry banana peppers. Oh, the server was just ok. She knew we what we ordered and didn't say anything about the overdone steak and I had to remind her about my green beans side that didn't come out and the lemons I asked for. I couldn't tell you her name.

   had the fried perch it was soggy and no taste what so ever...wife had the half slab ribs they were alright....have to find a new place. Happy hour might help this place nothing special

    Our server Tyler was excellent and our seats at the window overlooking the lake in view of the changing colors of the trees was absolutely tranquil. While we three ladies enjoyed our food, i found it to be a bit on the high side for pasta dishes. We loved the beef bologhnese and chicken marsala
