About this restaurant

  • Charming
  • Neighborhood gem
  • Good for groups
Italy's neighorhood pizzeria's are known as really casual places to hang out, meet friends, eat, drink and talk. Lil' Frankie's is just that. We offer real Neapolitan pizza, made exactly as it's made in Naples, fresh handmade pastas cooked to order, a wine and grappa list that rivals any in the city, and friendly (never pushy) service - all in a setting designed to make you feel at home.

Our brick, wood burning, oven was handcrafted by a 3rd generation Neapolitan oven builder, brick by brick. It features real lava from Vesuvio and through a unique double dome design, recycles heat to reach near 900 degrees.

Food was amazing! My boyfriend and I had the fried calamari as an appetizer which was cooked to perfection and the spicy sauce was so flavorful. I had the spaghetti limone and my boyfriend had the lamb ragu. We both loved our dishes and will definitely be back again. Also, the wine samples given to us truly helped pick the best pairing with our food and made our experience so much better!

Lil'Frankie's is an absolute gem! Visiting from LA for the week, I stumbled upon this place and it exceeded all expectations. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, creating such a pleasant atmosphere from the moment you walk in. The food? Simply outstanding. I'm literally still dreaming about my meal - authentic flavors that transport you with every bite. The attention to detail in each dish is remarkable. The warm service combined with exceptional food makes Lil'Frankie's a standout dining experience. Already planning my return visit before heading back to LA. If you're looking for a memorable meal with genuine hospitality, don't miss this spot!

I made a reservation to celebrate my partner's birthday and could not have been more disappointed with the service and food. A couple of things went wrong before I got upset: 1) Although we made a reservation, we decided to take the food to go. There was no space for us to wait for the food and so we provided a phone number for them to call when the meal was ready. We waited for over an hour and returned to check in where the food had been ready and we just were not called. This was upsetting. 2) It was made clear that this was a cash only restaurant and so I went out of my way to go to an ATM before hand. Upon payment, they presented us with a card option. Not that big of a deal, however, if this option is available to customers - why make them go out of their way to do this by saying it is cash only? 3) Unfortunately, there were what seemed to be wood chips in my food and they cut up my mouth. Upon inspecting it further, there were more in the dish. It was not edible at that point. It was such a disappointing experience and I feel upset that so much money was spent on food that could have been a better experience and meal.

Lovely neighborhood Italian trattoria. Can be noisy and like most nyc eateries — tables are situated close together. The fire roasted eggplant and homemade gnocchi are superb. Servers are friendly and efficient.

The food was absolutely delicious! pros: the kale caesar was the best thing we had - an absolute banger. Spaghetti limone - delicious! simple but great. The pizza crust & just the bread of the margherita pizza was good. The margherita pizza had olives on it, which was weird but kind of good. The lemon prosecco drink was yummy. The nutella dessert was like a few layers of bread with nutella & strawberries between them. cons: some of the tables are too small for the food. The old fashion was the worst I've ever had. People kept holding the front door open & the draft made it chilly. Cash only. Overall will likely return - it's kind of similar vibe to Rivas in Houston.
