First impressions: The noise level is appalling! I had seen a comment on the noise level, but it was from a dinner review. So we went at lunchtime and only 3 tables had people seated. However, the kitchen is open to the restaurant and there was so much clanging noise going on it definitely impacted our enjoyment. Thankfully I had my earplugs, but I didn't expect to have to use them at lunch. The food was impressive. We enjoyed the herbed flatbread to start. Then we had a deliciouos orange & fennel salad with pistachios. We also had the lamb skewers with their version of caponata. The lamb was perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked - very plump and juicy. The caponata had chick peas and eggplant and was sweet. It was excellent as well. Next the ragu alla chitarra was also very good - more meaty than tomatoey and the pasta tasted homemade and was cooked just right. The spritz I had to drink was one of the best I have tasted. Very light - not overly sweet. They put a little olive juice in. Surprisingly since there weren't many people our waitress was not super vigilant. I had to get up and get her to take our order, since she wasn't watching our table. We weren't asked if we wanted a second drink. Due to the noise level we probably won't return, despite the great food. And it is disappointing that they will do pizzas for carryout, but not for sit down customers.

The noise level was unbearable. Definitely needs some sound insulation! The food is good, but can’t get past the volume. Made for an unpleasant experience

Food was out of this word, but no zero proof cocktails or NA wine. Would be a simple fix to be inclusive of a new group that still wants to enjoy great drinks without alcohol.

I had high hopes but it was just ok. Service was a little slow. We started with the flatbread which was excellent. Unfortunately our entrees just didn't hit the mark. I had the gnocchi with lobster. The gnocchi were good but could have been seared in a pan for some texture. Lobster meat was as expected but the sauce/broth it came with had no flavor. It was actually just bad. The dish could have been saved if someone new how to make a sauce. The chicken was cooked perfectly with crispy skin but the problem again was the sauce with no flavor. It actually tasted like they just used the drippings of fat so it had no viscosity and really no flavor. Maybe if someone taste their food then it will have potential.

Perfect! Menu covers a lot of bases. The lamb skewers and steak were exceptional. My partner had the roast chicken, cooked in the pizza oven, could not have been better. We’ll be back for pasta. The staff is so nice-great experience.

I would serve bread. Menu is limited but food is very good! I would like the opportunity to have the pizza at the bar on a Friday night. Best part is the preparation of the food.

Wonderful creative take on Italian. We North Enders appreciate a change from the mundane menus of so many of the local restaurants. Unfortunately the renovation of the space did not include more soft surfaces or sound baffles. This is a constant complaint of we over 60 diners.

We went the first week they opened. Outstanding food, homemade pasta was amazing, the octopus and clams were delicious. If you are looking for a more sophisticated food option with reasonable prices this is your place. The food is way far from the average Northend Italian tourist trap restaurant. The service was excellent as well. Glad that we discovered Little Sage, it will be in our list for our next visits to Boston.
