First ever restaurant review! We were seated an hour and fifteen minutes after our reservation time. The inside seating on the outskirts of the restaurant isn’t as beautiful as the tables they advertised (we waited for nothing imo). Food wasn’t terrible ( recommend the beet salad), but otherwise, service was slow and for the price point, there are better options in Houston. We watched as someone dropped a tray and it wasn’t cleaned until 30 min later (patrons walked in spilled food unknowingly). The risotto and sauce on the ossobuco was great, but the veal itself was overcooked and hurt to chew. Overall, don’t make this your birthday meal :(

Outstanding server, Ben. Very knowledgeable, calm, attentive but not overbearing. Food was great. Pulpo was spectacular. Panacotta was too. Good price on wines. I am ready to return. Was there for late lunch which I would recommend.

Celebrating an anniversary (noted on RSVP) and we live close enough to watch the transformation from the former wine bar to Lombardi, so we were also looking to see if we could add this restaurant to our local rotation. Seated near the wine wall & note you will be close enough to hear your neighbors eating & conversation. Ask for a booth for more privacy. A bit of a wait for our server, while assistant servers held water & stared at us. There is enough wait staff to clearly keep all guests taken care of, but there is clearly some kind of hierarchy, because once our waiter came, then we were given water while we waited for drinks. There appears to be a sommelier, because he came to our neighbors table to offer some suggestions. Perhaps the sommelier should offer services to all tables? After drinks arrived, a board of bread also arrived with red sauce, & 4 olives. Bread board was a miss to be blunt. Bread had some season on it, yet no real taste & the red sauce was also meh, like purred canned tomatoes. One pc of bread with a smear of red sauce shared between us was enough, we set that aside. Next, came the Fritter Di Mare appetizer & we found this to be a solid choice with enough to share for 4 people. Server returned to clear table, including crumbs & remove the uneaten bread. The kitchen should be noticing how much bread is coming back uneaten & get a clue-bc other tables were also leaving their bread untouched. 2nd round of drinks, my first glass of Sauvignon Blanc was flat, which the server then suggested a California, I asked for a Sancerre which he brought he offered a taste, but I just had him finish the pour. No tap beers. Next without a word, came a person with the table for my entre, Tagliolini Tartufo, which is prepared table side. Finished preparing and set my dinner down. Then came the awkward wait for my dinner partners steak. Asked another waiter to find the steak which was then finally brought out. Decent food, comp'd the olive cake desert. Meh.
