   It felt like an off night for them since last year was a different experience. We weren’t notified until our order was ready to come out that they were out of mashed potatoes. We ordered surf and turf - the steak was really good but the prawns were very overcooked (super firm). The server was nice but kept apologizing. He brought extra asparagus but the steak really needed the mashed potatoes. For a $90 entry with a main component missing and overcooked prawns, I’m not sure I would try again - a discount would have been nice.

   As always, Longhi’s was amazing. My husband and I split the rigatoni and started with our own salad. I had the Greek and he had Longhi Longhi. Food was delicious. You can’t beat the ambiance, looking out at the ocean. Service is just enough. And, you never feel rushed. A Hui Hou, until next time.

   I travel a lot all over the US and Pacific and I have had an opportunity to dine a literally hundreds and perhaps thousands of different restaurants over the last 15 years. I can say that this was one of the worse experiences in a long time. Truly disappointed with this restaurant. We made reservations for a party of 6 for 7pm. We walked over from an adjacent resort. The restaurant is right on the beach with incredible views. That’s about where the positives end. As soon as we sat down and opened our silverware setups, several were dirty. Not just with water spots on the utensils, dirty with food leftovers stuck to the knife and fork. We let the waitress know and she apologized profusely and brought new setups. The waitress was the only bright spot. The apps, we ordered the ceviche and fried calamari as well as table bread. They weren’t bad but for the price they left a lot to be desired. Then the entrees came. Two of us had the surf and turf for over $80 a plate. It was less than disappointing, it was truly not worthy of the setting or price. Outback would have been more upscale than this. The steak was a NY strip, very fatty and super tough. The “surf” was literally three shrimp. The asparagus were not very appetizing looking, and one of the plates did not include the mash potatoes that were supposed to be part of the dish. Others in the party had steak as well, and the cuts and cook of the meat were just ok. Same accompaniments. The insult to the injury was the final bill. We got charged the auto-grat of 20% which normally I’m ok with but in this instance I was a bit aggravated with because of the issues mentioned above. However, we did not complain and we paid and left. Then there were several additional local charges that made the bill even higher. The total bill for 6 diners and subpar food was $710, completely ridiculous. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

   Always a wonderful experience going back to sitting with Bob Longhi at original Lahaina restaurant enjoying the Ahi Longhi with the signature Mai Tai!!

   The glasses were dirty and had to keep sending back for replacements. The food was cold and unappetizing, the presentation was lacking they don’t clean around the plate to make it appealing. The customer service was rushed and lacking for the prices you would think they would give more attention. But they had so many tables to tend too it’s hard to give individual service that would reflect the prices. Great view of the water but I would not recommend and the bugs were crazy.

   The food while good was overpriced and service was almost non existent. The overall experience was less than what we had hoped for. It took us 20 minutes after being seated to get a server and even then we had to flag him down anytime we needed anything. This place could have been so much better than the experience we had but the staff didn’t seem to be engaged.

   Your paying a lot of money for their view...don't get seated behind a bush with open tables! The wine menu is good, but the 5 oz pours make it a bad value...stick with water. Server was great, friendly and helpful. Had the catch of the day...a small mahi-mahi over purple potatoes- no flavor and very small. Overall, disappointing evening.
