  • Charming
  • Good for special occasions
  • Great for creative cocktails
Located in University City, Louie Louie is an American bistro with a French inspired menu offering seasonal, ingredient-inspired dishes based on a classical combination of flavors. House-made pastries and an extensive beverage program highlighting wines by the glass and bottle as well as seasonal specialty cocktails and craft beers add to the dining experience. The décor pays homage to Art Nouveau and European cafes with a touch of the 1970s. Traditional wood tones, reclaimed subway tiles, tried and true black and white marble stones as flooring and wainscoting and blue and buttery leathers, fabrics and patterns bring color and graphic identities to the space. The Lounge offers custom lux seating, perfect for gathering with friends for cocktails and snacks. Outdoor seating reminiscent of French cafes is the ideal spot for dining and people watching.

I went to Louie Louie on Valentine’s Day and let me just say my overall experience is not what I expected. For such a limited menu, the location and prices, I expected the food to be better. The salmon Caesar Salad was awful. The dressing tasted funny and the salmon well that was very underwhelming. Bland and not tasty at all. Fries were okay and paying $24 for 3 shrimp that also had a weird taste is a little crazy. Even the water they served tasted funny, 100% tasted like sink water. The servers all looked miserable including mine and it was very disorganized.

When you go out for Valentine’s Day and are spending $300+ you should feel like it and this was the atmosphere of a loud cheap pub. Table were 6 inches apart and the initial table they tried to sit us at was a 4 top with a divider in it. Don’t over book your restaurant cause it ruins it. Apps were okay at best, Mac and cheese was cold waitress didn’t come by enough to know that. Steak ordered medium rare and they were Pittsburgh style sent back came back the same way didn’t want to bother again. Overall, I’m not sure how this place has a somewhat good rating as I’m so disappointed I didn’t go elsewhere

Food was horrible. Wine was corked and the replacement bottle was semi-corked. Waitress was very nice, but not great at the job. Waited 10 minutes for a spoon after the soup was served. Cheese on the cheese plate was sitting in a puddle from washing the apple slices. Entrees were decent. Cocktails were ok.

Sandwich was incredibly greasy. I don’t think there was any alcohol in the espresso martini what so ever. Largely overpriced for what you get . We drove from camp hill for this experience and it wasn’t worth it

I was extremely disappointed during my experience. We came here for my friend’s birthday brunch. For starters, out waiter was uncomfortably chipper, and then negligent throughout our dining experience. We had to stop him on several occasions just to ask for simply things such as a straw, which took him 40 minutes to return with. We then placed our order for drinks and food. It took an unusually long time for the bar to make our drinks, and our table was directly across from it. After an hour of waiting for our food, we stopped one of the hosts to inform him of our experience thus far. He returned five or so minutes later with the cheese plate and brioche bread we ordered, which turned out to be the best part of the meal. We then waited another half hour before requesting the manager, as we had other plans and waited far too long for our food. They blamed the kitchen being slow, but there weren’t many people eating. However we saw people who arrived well after we did get their food first. She provided us with a gift card for future use at other restaurants owned by them, which was a kind gesture, however I can’t get back the time lost, or the death of my taste buds. When our food came out, it was cold, and flavorless. I had ordered crab Benedict, since they were out of lobster. That should have been our first cue to leave. The English muffin was hard to the point I could barely cut it. I didn’t finish my food, and felt it was overpriced for it to taste poorly, and for the service to be subpar.
