Located in a historical home in the resort town of Dana Point, California, Luciana's Ristorante has been serving the Orange County community for over 40 years. The decor is reminiscent of a cozy European-style inn, establishing it as one of Orange County's most romantic restaurants. Awarded the Southern California Restaurant Writers gold medal since 1996, three stars from the California Restaurant Writers, Zagat's Survey "America’s 1,000 Top Italian Restaurants 2008" and an Award of Excellence for its wine list, Luciana's has been setting the standard for classic as well as innovative Italian cuisine.     Due to high demand we will be offering our Valentine's Menu on both Friday Feb 14th AND Saturday Feb 15th. The pre-fixe menu is offered at $105 per person which includes 4 courses. This will be the only menu available on both nights. We will also be extending our hours of operation to 4pm to 10pm on both nights. With the popularity of bookings we are not offering tables above the size of 4 people.

    I perhaps had set too high of expectations. Appetizers came within two minutes of ordering, although the calamari was good. Im glad we delayed ordering our entrees. The tomatoes on the caprese were tasteless and came with one measly basil leaf on each large tomato slice. I wrongly expected better tomatoes from a restaurant in California. The bread was cold, as was the butter. The chicken piccata was mediocre and salty. I also found it weird that so many entrees came with mashed potatoes. Not something you normally see at an Italian restaurant. The desserts were good and it had a nice atmosphere. Overall, it was “ok.”

    I really enjoyed the ambience, whether you sit in the main restaurant or on the patio with the fireplace. It’s a wonderful experience. Food and wine are priced quite fair for a nice Italian restaurant. Looking forward to going back.

    Pretty sure the "fish of the day", Mahi Mahi ,was frozen from Costco. Not what you would expect for a $38.00 special. :( The pasta dish was good and our server was great!
