   So happy that Lussmans has come to roost in North London I wanted to try EVERYTHING on the menu - I didn't, but what I chose was beautifully prepared and presented - not over fussy or pretentious -everything was much better than I imagined. Lovely service - Giles Coren is right to rave about Lussmanns!

   The new layout of this former Côte has been changed so the street-facing part which used to be the most popular area has been separated into a brunch cafe and the unpopular middle of the floor is now the restaurant. Bad decision as the ‘shop window’ looks bleakly empty. The restaurant was empty at 6pm on a Monday but the set menu stopping at 6 instead of 7pm dutkey doesn’t help. If there is an early evening set menu, the included desserts should be on a separate set menu card - rather than us choosing a dessert from the whole menu to be told ‘that’s not included’ - sounds mean.

   Hello Sherry Happy to advise that the new area has been a success creating a space for parties, dogs and coffees and furthermore you now walk into the restaurant rather than via the original dank and dark corridor. You are more than welcome to move into the restaurant regardless of what you want to eat. Mondays are always a little quiet but happy to advise that we are between 35 and 40% busier than Cote so though far from resting on our laurels seem to be on the right track. Set menu is illustrated using a gold diamond and most set menus stop between 5pm and 6pm across London allowing the early bird to enjoy a deal. Andrei L

   Was interested to try this new restaurant in Highgate. Really enjoyed the meal. Good vegetarian options (chose the celeriac steak) and staff were very friendly and pleasant.

   Had a really excellent Sunday lunch yesterday; the food was some of the best I've had in a London restaurant recently, and the waitress was exceptionally helpful and efficient. Good atmosphere too, and above all no canned music in the background. I also think it's an excellent idea to put a question about the noise level in the questionnaire: the first one I've seen online, and a good sign that restaurants are waking up to the fact that one of the most important things in a restaurant is to be able to hear yourself think!

   Emily who looked after us was super friendly and efficient and made the evening very pleasant. Competent cooking and good flavours. A nice neighbourhood restaurant.

   The food was great overall. However there were a few things that could do with a bit of improvement. Firstly, the menu seemed a tad saturated with lamb dishes. The set menu featured three lamb dishes and only one beef dish. I do not eat lamb. Secondly, the menu could benefit greatly if it had a choice of sauces one could opt for to accompany any of the other dishes - there was no sauce available to have with the steak except for a very oily mild curry flavoured substance that appeared to be made ofrom Clarified butter. For dessert I had the carpaccio of pineapple with coconut, which arrived on a flat plate absolutely swimming in pineapple juice that tasted like it also had the curry flavouring in it and was lightly spiced with chilli, which greatly overpowered the rest of the dish.

   Hello Jo Good to hear. The set menu only has one lamb dish being the organic mutton sheperds pie. The only other dish that is related is the vegan lamb style flatbread. The onlget is available without sauce on request and we can or course provide mustard. Note made re the pineapple. Thanks Andrei

   Food was delicious although a bit pricey - two for lunch without wine was over £70. Nonetheless, lovely setting - perhaps next to the window with the sunshine overheating me was a bad choice…. Will I return? Yes!
